I guess we'll see. I didn't get any takeaway that Finn was force sensitive. I also found it troubling the Rey could beat Ren in a duel when she has only raw ability and Ren has at least been partially trained.

Yeah but why wouldn't we have heard them talk about losing their daughter or giving her up?

Because it is a big secret?

Finn's escape at the beginning of the movie is what made me think he was force sensitive. He learned 2 new weapons in seconds/by 'feel'.

What, to fight the terrible backed up toilets and persistent stains in the Death Star 2.0's latrines?

This is my theory that I posted earlier in this thread; I do think Rey had some partial force training:

"Theory:

Rey is about 8-9 years younger than Kylo and they both attend the Jedi Academy and train to be Jedi.

Kylo meets Snoke at some point, Snoke convinces him the Dark Side is stronger, and turns him rogue.

While Luke is away, Kylo kills all the students at the academy as well as Luke's wife/Rey's mother. He fights with himself in his mind and cannot kill Rey and spares her.

Luke comes back to the Academy and sees the damage done, and cannot live with himself. He wipes Rey's memories, causing her to forget about her Jedi training, and takes her to Jaaku and leaves her to protect her. Luke then goes into hiding, and vows to never use the force again.

In TFA, during the flashback/future? scene:

Rey's tapping into the force abilities were triggered and accelerated when she touched Anakin's lightsaber, and some of her abilities came back.

This would also explain why Kylo seemed hesitant to kill Rey and offered to train her in the force. Perhaps he knows she is related to him."

I don't think some realize how injured Kylo actually was. A bowcaster is far more powerful than a blaste

He was apparently well enough to install a few fancy spin moves into his fighting routine.

It didn't look like he was affected at all.

No, to be part of a landing party whose purpose was to secure the First Order's biggest threat.

Exceot for the fact that he looked dog tired and kept hitting himself in the side.

Technically, it's more like the Death Star 2.5 or something

Technically it was a planet converted into some super nuclear-ish/sun weapon which became a sun or a star after the core went unstable

Not just beaten - she utterly destroyed him after "meditating" near the cliff. She beat him down repeatedly and was in a killing position had the ground not fractured.

Episode VIII can rectify this if it's revealed that she was trained for years as a child before being abandoned on Jakku.

There is a stream of the entire battle available online. I encourage you to watch it again.

Aside from punching his side a few times in an attempt to dull the pain, his movement doesn't seem to be affected at all. He's the aggressor for the majority of the fight - and, as mentioned, he was apparently well enough to spin around and perform a few fancy moves throughout the fight.

The guy had sweat pouring off of his face when he caught up with Rey & Finn, and was bent over favoring his side. It wasn't until he caused himself enough pain (which is one of the "fuels" of the dark side) that he was able to get himself into fighting condition. I believe he was having to use the force just to keep himself moving (which is why he didn't use any force pushes while dueling).

I thought Rey was Luke and Leia's kid. That makes the most sense.

Or Ren, since he clearly has acute potato disease.

To be fair, Kylo was fighting after he got shot in the side by a bowcaster and he told Snoke that she was stronger in the Force than him, but didn't know it yet (her strength or how to use it). Keep in mind that before she let the Force in, she was getting worked and being pushed back.

And now she will be trained by Luke. As it stands Kylo is no threat to her so unless something major happens to change their characters in the next movie, there won't be any tension in any type of showdown between the two.

What? I thought she was the one who said "you can understand that thing" to Han.

At this point, I don't know what's a worse idea: building the capability to destroy planets or trying to build a theme park around live dinosaurs.
