LINK

It will be interesting to see if these movies have more of an adult to them.

These new films will be separate from both the episodic Skywalker saga and the recently-announced trilogy being developed by Rian Johnson, writer-director of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

This is never going to happen. No one will go see it if Rian Johnson is at the helm outside of NY, LA, and SF. I'll be shocked if they go forward with this and Rian Johnson doesn't leave over "creative differences".

As if Star Wars wasn’t rushed and fricked up already...get on the fan service bandwagon everybody.

Well, without any source material to pull from for these two, we can be assured of poor dialogue and an abundance of dick-and-fart jokes.

“David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today,” said Kathleen Kennedy.

It blows my mind this dumbfrick is in charge of Star Wars. They adapted a book series and have turned it to shite since the books ended so please tell me how they are great storytellers.

But it's not. The way it is written implies that their movies will be in addition to the Rian Johnson movies.

How will they have separate trilogys? Will they have the "main" trilogy then something like Old Republic?

It does. But Disney isn't going to admit defeat this early. They will let it drag and come up with an excuse like Rian had other projects to pursue. I can dream

Hopefully George RR Martin writes enough of it so that they don’t have to.

Exactly. They are no doubt great producers, but I wouldn't want them writing it. The writing on GOT has been pretty poor since they no longer have GRRM to lean on.

I honestly am not sure if Kennedy realizes that they only adapted and did not create the story

Oh god, you just reminded me of the scene where they made Maester Pycelle fart. God, that was awful

Yeah, to be honest, I do think that Damon Lindeloff and Carlton Cuse are better writers and storytellers than D&D. That is not a compliment to the former. It’s just whenever we get off the beaten path and doesn’t involve a battle (they’re good at writing those because they have great directors and actors to see it through), it’s just not as good as when Martin wrote it (with the exception of The Winds of Winter episode).

Like the Littlefinger reveal being behind everything, it’s so sloppy compared to how masterful Martin wrote that sequence and is treated as a fun fact rather than a revelation. Or when Barristan is killed by a bunch of teenagers defending Grey Worm, the character the audience really could not give a frick about. This is just amateur shite.

After Rian Johnson who directed some of my favorite tv episodes ever, I can’t say I’m exactly thrilled with D&D coming on board. I also don't think D&D respect their audience, having to spoonfeed us everything in later seasons, like the cringeworthy Rhaegar ending last year where they carefully explain something to the audience that was revealed far better and more subtly at the same point in the last season.

There are a lot more of these memes, but I can’t seem to find them anywhere but this one.

Way to waste a monkey paw. Now we're going to get an adaption of Kevin J Anderson's stuff.

Set in a different time period.
