Interview with Abrams. Just more proof there was never a plan and they're just winging this thing. Good read.

How do you not have a plan? You don’t have to have every movie already written but how do you not already have the narratives and main storylines outlined in a general way so things don’t get all fricked? Makes no sense to me.

It ended when Disney decided they wanted to kill off all the core characters of the OT as soon as possible.

It's like they were trying to break a record to see who could kill off old and highly popular cast members the quickest regardless if it fit the narrative.

Eta: but the fact that they're going to do a "break" says everything.

What they really mean is:

"Yeah we fricked up big time, and we're just going to hide for awhile and hope this all just goes away."

I can understand Han Solo because Harrison Ford would only come back to be killed since he’s been bitching about Return of the Jedi for 3 decades. But Luke, what the frick were they thinking?

It's not that they killed them, it's HOW they killed them. I actually had no issue with Han's death. I have issue that Leah did NOT die when the bridge of the flagship was fired on. Luke's death made absolutely no since the way it was done.

It's still difficult for me to understand it.

The Rey/Luke shite was so fricking embarrassing and abysmal. It was like the SNL writers were handed the reigns on writing that entire storyline.

-Luke: cookie old man who drinks green milk like a buffoon

-Rey: trains herself, disrupts looney tunes that are local to the Island

I'm sure Rian thought the whole thing was just fricking hilarious from his director's chair.

Over under percentage of people saying they won't see the movie, that end up seeing the movie? 85%

I love that Hamill recently spoke out against Luke's death again and that he felt tricked by Lucas Film.

Everyone will watch it eventually out of a sense of morbid curiosity at minimum, but I think most will avoid seeing it in a movie theater as a means of protest.

I'll watch it when they put it on Disney+. I won't spend one extra dime to view this in the theater or rent it.

I would understand this if it were RJ making EP 9. But it's JJ, I think he'll do it justice. Let's give him a chance to right the ship.

This is why I think today's trailer is so huge for SW. They have to knock it out of the park. They need a big positive reaction to the trailer the way 'Jokers' trailer has changed the narrative for that film.

Unless he's trying to drop a subtle hint, the Skywalker saga already came to an end after the eighth movie.

Don't care. Disney didn't get the message.

Actually, they did. Solo's box office was an embarrassment. It caused them to shelve several films and regroup.

Unfortunately one was reportedly Kenobi. But it sounds like streaming with get a Kenobi mini-series so all is well.

But they never listen to my ideas anyway, so who needs 'em?"
