Another thing that didn't make sense to me (unless I just missed a dialogue sequence).
How did "Antonio Banderas" know where the escape ships were, or that they were even going? Their plan was to disable the tracker so they could jump to light speed and not be tracked. The only person who knew about the escape ship plan was Purple Hair and Poe and I'm guessing Leia. How did he find out about them and know where to tell the First Order to target?

I actually can’t recall a single Star Wars plot that hinges on running out of fuel.
Not to mention in space fuel isn't all that important once you start going. In order for this to work the ships have to be constantly accelerating at the same rate which means if they keep it up they'll soon be going at like light speed. If they can keep on accelerating, why doesn't the Star Destroyer go even faster? Both these ships just happen to have the same max acceleration? I noticed this while watching the movie that this makes really no sense.
This movie is so fricking retarded.

Star Wars Episode VIII: Because Reasons
Further proof Poe was a mole and leaked the info.
Look man, Holdo had NO CLUE the “hacker man” sold them out from her perspective. Her only viable train of thought would be “Poe must have betrayed us”
I’m going to write up a thread titled Episode 8: From Holdo’s perspective
I really think that doing so would drive home the point of how poorly this movie was written.

Going back to the Bombers, why the hell did they send every one they had when clearly one would do? I get sending a couple for backup in case one failed, but they sent their entire arsenal. Then Leia is pissed at Poe when they lose them all.
What?
What?

Poe was the acting commander - he made that call after cutting comms with Leia

Disappointing. It seems like most scenes were nicked from the franchise, and just rehashed. Hamil was terrible. I'm sorry, but i'll never get used to Adam Driver from "Girls" being a supervillain. The Queen's accent to boot.
Kept waiting for Vader to emerge from the shadows and throw Snoke into the reactor vessel. Haha

he cut comms, but even if everything went according to plan, they were sending every bomber. Leia didn't think he could complete his portion, so wanted to abort the rest of the mission. So, the mission was still to send every bomber they had.

I believe Poe radioed to Finn telling him what was going on while Finn, Rose, and Del Toro were outside the door to the hyper speed tracking breaker or whatever it was called. Del Toro overheard while he was getting the door open.

Just imagine if Rose had been present for this scene and fallen in love with Randy Quaid: LINK

First thing I thought of during that scene.

Finding a single code breaker in the entire galaxy in enough time to: have a janitor and a mechanic convince him to willingly board Snoke's ship and disable a device located in the center of the ship that no one knows if he can actually disable.
I'd be onboard with this plot if they don't go to the casino, have a codebreaker on staff, and it just Finn, Poe, and the codebreaker go to Snoke's ship. Maybe it's too similar to ANH or Rogue One, but IDGAF. The B Plot was pointless as filmed.

Then I may have just missed that part.

quote:Bingo! It COULD have been a triumph of a movie, but there was so much bad in it that the good in it becomes pointless. It's like taking a beautiful Renoir painting and then letting George Rodrigue draw one of his stupid blue dog's in it and saying, "NOW it's finished."
The fact that this movie did have redeeming qualities makes it worse.

I'm just imagining how bad this director's trilogy is going to be.

Or, if you really do believe they both have the same max acceleration, why not have one first order ship go to lightspeed ahead of the the Resistance then double back or flank them? We'll just keep chasing them until they run out of fuel one by one instead.
I actually thought the idea of being able to track ships through lightspeed was a good concept because the answer to getting out of trouble in previous Star Wars movies was always to jump to lightspeed. But come up with a better story than "if we jump to lightspeed one more time, we'll run out of fuel and they'll be able to track us anyway, so we'll just sit here and let our ships get picked off one by one and hope they don't notice when we all get into smaller transports when the last ship is all that's left."
The B plot of this movie is complete garbage, and the A plot is so underwhelming.
