Was anyone else impressed with the cinematography in the scene where the purple haired lady went light speed to protect the "life rafts"?

I thought that was an absolutely GORGEOUS scene.

Any hope of a good Star Wars franchise just died here.

You remember the Pirates of the Caribbean craze in the early 2000s?

Funny how enthusiasm and interest for that disappeared after Disney kept pumping out the same bland formulaic crap after 5 movies.

In fact, that's what and where I fear Star Wars is headed to under Disney's control.

Denis Villeneuve would have made a hell of a Star Wars movie and I firmly believe that.

That was pretty cool I have to admit.

One of the very very few bright spots in the film. There should have been cool shite like that happening all throughout the movie.

The visuals were good but it should have been Ackbar who did it.

Either he or Alex Garland should have made this. It’s just garbage and infuriating. The building blocks are here, but it’s just ruined.

Eh, after having seen Blade Runner 2049, I don't see how his slow burn style of movie making would've worked well for a fast paced franchise like Star Wars.

Another masculine figure? Are you kidding me? FEMALE POWER IS HERE. Get over it. Women are in charge now, and they can do anything males can do.

Beginning of the movie with the bomber scene....FEMALE HERO.

Leia force pulling herself into the ship (improbably and uncharacteristically) FEMALE HERO.

The Asian chick "saving" Finn... FEMALE HERO.

The Laura Dern purple haired lady breaking the first order ship with lightspeed...FEMALE HERO.

Rey lifting rocks to save the resistance fighters... FEMALE HERO.

This was about FEMALES. GIRL POWER BITCH.

Rey and Kylo being trained, tension between Kylo and Rey and Luke and Snoke constantly building throughout the movie, delving more into the mythology of both the light and dark side.

Finn and Poe go TOGETHER to Canto Bight, elminating Rose's character. You can leave Holdo in there that's fine. Have Lando be the code breaker and have BDT's character be some crazed bounty hunter that Hux sends after Finn and Poe.

Kylo and Rey meet and fight. Snoke helps Kylo beat Rey and tries to get her to turn. Luke shows up and an intense force battle ensues between him and Snoke while Kylo and Rey battle again. Rey is beaten by Kylo and instead of helping Snoke he stabs him from behind. Holdo blows through the ship while Kylo and Luke lightsaber battle. As the ship is about to explode Luke holds the ship together with the Force allowing Finn, Poe and Rey to escape, but also Kylo in the process.

I disagree with everything you said. Screw Canto Bight as a whole. Just have it to where Rey and Kylo eventually plot to destroy their mentors together. But once their plan succeeds over their masters, Kylo proposes that Rey rules at his side. She refuses which pisses him off leading to a final duel. That’s where it should have gone. It should have been Katara vs Zuko at the end.

How can you do that in a Rian Johnson world? Then you reduce the minority characters to side roles...and then you'd be focusing on the white man (Kylo Ren) and the white female. The female part is good, but can't focus on white people too much.

I understand WHY it happened, but it blows my mind that at no point in the filming/editing/viewing of this movie did anyone say “man, this film has a nearly 100% different tone than the last one, and has the same characters...that’s a problem” did no one screen this and think “this is too much slapstick and low brow humor”.

I knew something was very wrong the second Luke tossed the lightsaber over his shoulder.

ou know, they missed out on a great cameo in this movie.... Lando should have been in the casino.

Rian said on Kimmel that he couldn't find a way to fit him into the story.

Thank you for confirming you’re retarded. I’m going to let your caretaker know you’re up after midnight.

”Well, I’m still in denial,” Hamill joked. “I just think he transported somewhere else.”

“Modern day New York,” Rian added with a laugh. “That was my favorite theory we had.”

During the Q&A, Johnson also pointed out a slight flaw with the vanishing scene. “We were in the other room saying, ‘A steel hand should clunk to the ground.’”

Hamill dealt with the news of his character’s demise in stages of grief. You already heard him express denial. Originally, the actor reacted with bargaining. “The first thing I said was, ‘Can’t you wait and do this in Episode IX?’”

But Johnson said it was necessary to keep the focus on the new characters as the trilogy reached its end. (J.J. Abrams will return to make the next installment, set for release in 2019.)

No. Kylo should be on Rey’s side to benefit his and her own ends. Kylo Should be genuine towards Rey. He genuinely wants her on his side and is telling her the truth as he sees it. He wants her to rule at his side.

It’s just his ends mean Galactic rule and domination, which Rey will not only stand against, but also be the universal beacon against him. That’s why Kylo will try to kill her. It would have been amazing if they went this route.
