It was cool seeing Hugh back on Star Trek.

Episode 3 wasn't great. Stop trying to make JL a thing. A 92 year old Picard isn't going to wreck shop on highly trained Romulan operatives. Hugh wasn't a good actor then, and he isn't now. I hate the Cruel Intentions vibe on the Borg Cube with the Romulan operative, his sister, and Soji.

Episode 3 impressions:

Did this chick just call him "JL?" Okay. Whatever.

People are still vaping in the 24th century? I'm guessing that's a product placement, but wow is that bad.

Ralphie is a really shitty actress. Her and Picard's scenes are excruciating.

Stewart looks tired. He just seems slow and old in every scene.

Does this macho captain guy have a gay holographic doctor boyfriend? What the frick is this shite?

A shared narrative framework to cope with their trauma? Nice shot at religion but it just seems uninteresting anyway.

The show continues to feel more like Altered Carbon or The Expanse than Star Trek.

She's been doing it. But I agree it needs to stop.

I agree. Especially in physical scenes you can hear his panting. I remember seeing the trailer and being glad that the TNG cameos were limited. If they brought the whole crew back it would be a team of geriatrics trying to save the day. It was a wise choice to have everyone else being younger characters.

I still think you see things that aren't there because you're looking for it. And even if it was, Roddenberry was a known atheist so it's not surprising.

What I did find comical was that they introduced a Romulan Legolas.

Episode 4 impressions:

The writing on this show is awful. All of the jumping around just feels scatterbrained.

Using the chateau set as a holodeck program to save money.

The love scene is ridiculous.

Why do people still fight with swords?

Romulan Legolas
and that.

The previews for the next episode look terrible.

Yep, i'd say Episode 4 is the worst. Show is definitely deteriorating with each episode. Where do we even begin?
- Fighting with swords
- Three different Romulan secret societies
- Picard letting himself be called "JL" and on a galactic apology tour for himself and Starfleet
- Thinly veiled political/SJW preaching
- Crude, unnecessary profanity
- Chaotic filming that can't stay focused on one story for more than three or four minutes

This sh*t is garbage and that's putting it lightly. It's likely that Star Trek: Enterprise will be the last "true" Star Trek series made (unless you count non Star Trek shows like Orville). Kurtzman's Star Trek is unwatchable.

Yeah, I liked the first episode but it has been going in the wrong direction. Last episode being straight up bad.

And I say that as one of the rare people that seems to like Discovery.

For Star Trek, it really is. I can get gross bearded dudes spouting profanity anywhere. This is just hackneyed shite.

This show is really dragging and all too predictable

1st off, the acting is just terrible, doesnt help that the scripts are so forced and bland. I couldnt stand that actress that plays Raffi (Michelle Hurd) from the first time I saw her in whatever tv show(s) she's been on. Just awful in her delivery and over-acts every scene she's ever been in.

5 episodes in, and we barely even know where this story is going (not in a cool, mysterious way). And the final scene in the medical bay was sooooooooooo predictable. But the punch the holographic robot in the head thing may have been the final straw for me, I dont know if I have an episode 6 in me

TNG is still on Netflix.

I recommend everyone stop watching this Picard and remember Picard of TNG.

This fckking show might be worse than Discovery, esp in terms of what they are doing to Picard's character.

Women just slapping him around.

Also, why try to make Seven of Nine more of a bad arse than she already was? Out of all the ancillary characters introduced, she has the most complete backstory and a cool one at that. To try to make her some renegade fighter out in deep space makes no damn sense.

Episode 5 reeked of a 'we need a week to make this feel more like a TNG episode without using any original characters'. The ridiculous garb to wear on Freecloud, infiltrating using fake IDs, holographic ad punch outs, the Troi doppelganger cartel leader. It all seems like a bad Western or a Moriarty episode of TNG.

Of all the criticisms I think the worst part of the episode was Seven’s borg implants. They looked terrible in this episode, way worse than they ever did on Voyager. They looked painted on at some points.

Also, fricking Icheb man.

Episode 5 impressions, and this might be the last episode of this that I can tolerate.

Lots of blood and gore for Star Trek. The edgy Kurtzman thing continues.

Holy shite. Did Seven just mercy kill Echeb? WTF?

Seven is not at all the same character. She's not a hardened or matured version of herself. She's just a different person.

I think Legolas is just a huge nerd troll, like those memes that quote LotR while attributing the quote to Star Wars in front of a picture of Patrick Stewart. They're trying to piss people off with that.

Picard doing the French accent with the eye patch might be the worst thing I've ever seen in Star Trek.

Raffi is a drug addict? Her son is kind of a bitch. Why did she have to stow away at the end? Just to be cute?

Wow, so much for the quest to find Maddox. Kind of a dead end there now.

The writing and acting in this are just awful. Stewart must be making a fortune. Forget the politics and retcons. This is just bad.

So this is another issue I have. Picard being pro refugee, being a renegade when it’s for the greater good makes perfect sense.

I think Stewart’s acting as a whole has been good.

However, Stewart is acting in ways that are just so not Picard. The eye patch is the most obvious but even the way he laughed and shooed away the advertisement just wasn’t Picard.

This is the man that gave children a stern look when they celebrated Picard day.

I thought it was hilarious that they spent a little time on the alien that can detect lies

Gave Rios a drug to combat it, yet Picard and everyone else shows up no problem

Okay, frick it. I watched episode 6 because I was bored.

This is not the character of Jean-Luc Picard. This is an old emotional crybaby. Like Seven, it's just a different character. The writing is just absolute shite.

Picard having to do a "keyword search" on the computer, which now makes little computation noises instead of talking. You used to be able to ask the computer a straight question.

The evil Romulan chick is pretty fine.

Everyone is smoking and boozing it up on teh bridge, and Raffi is still vaping her space crack. This is just weird.

Elrond of Rivendell is just absurd, and his shitty acting is surpassed only by the horrible dialogue and really, just the entirety of his character. It's really just astonishingly bad. The ridiculous final line he utters in this episode is a perfect moment for me to go out on. It just encapsulates how bad a show this is.

I can honestly say that it has nothing to do with wokeness or politics or anything like that. This show is just really stupid.

Ive only seen first episode, but look forward to y'all's reviews of the other episodes. Like discovery I think I'll skip this and just read another star trek book.
I don't get why wars and trek can't just lift a story from a book rather than hire writers who don't get there characters or the feelings of the source.
