The Russell Crowe part was the weakest of the movie, was turrible.

Imagine the uproar if it was Lady Thor that got the "Flick"

Honestly if I had gone in with other expectations I probably would have hated it or at least had trouble liking it.
I had a similar reaction to Ragnarok, turned it off after about 30 mins complaining about how silly it was and I was told (either here on FB or elsewhere) that that’s just how the Thor movies have developed, basically slapstick leading to some weirdly then crucial moments. It’s whatever. The fact that I or others enjoyed it with all the caveats and warnings doesn’t really make it a win for the Marvel U. Just that it’s salvageable.

The movie needed way more Gorr, was easily the best part of the movie.
Yup. Bale did a good job of changing his tone to match certain moments, and even Gorr's "humor" was dark (like when he talks about meeting Valkyrie, only to then shift to talk about her most tragic moment).
Needed more Gorr, less Zeus, fewer jokes (and better placement of the jokes that were kept).
At least Jane didn't get miraculously saved at the end, but it also means Thor's lost loved ones count is now:
Mother
Father
Mjolnir
Brother
Sister (though not a "loved" one)
Close friend (Natasha)
Close friend (Tony)
Lover

I agree.
Dumb me, though...through out the movie, I was wondering "why is he playing Zeus using an old Jewish man accent". Later read that it was supposed to be Greek.

But with Jane's death, does this mean he gets Mjolnir back?
I hope so, because that could set up the next Thor movie with Beta Ray Bill since, in the comics, BRB ended up with Stormbreaker.

He has it at the end of the movie.

In the comics Stormbreaker was made exclusively FOR Beta Ray Bill. It's also the size of Mjolnir, as opposed to the size it has in the movies.
BRB, or at least the same race, was one of the heads on the Grandmaster's tower (so a past champion). He may show up in Planet Hulk (he played the role the Silver Surfer otherwise filled in the cartoon version of Planet Hulk)

Finally saw it. Man, what a good movie. They’ve really done a good job with Thor imo. I loved the guns and roses theme too
How about the guy from Ted Lasso as Hercules in the mid credit scene?? Awesome.

IMO Thor's character peaked in Infinity War and has been trending down. Love and Thunder had good pieces, but for everything I enjoyed in it there were things I didn't. Jane's story was pretty good. New Asgard the tourist attraction is dumb. Bale as Gorr was great but woefully underused. The mjolnir/stormbreaker thing was dumb. The humor was good at times, but over done. I hated Zeus. The battles were pretty awesome though.

That is absolutely not what old Jewish men sound like.

The Honest Trailers pointed out the absurdity of a Thanos-inspired ice cream shop. That would be like having a Hitler-inspired burger joint.

God yes. The last villain that got enough screen time to develop was Loki (unless you count the TV shows) - that's one of the great things about the Netflix Marvel shows - we got great actors playing terrifying villains with plenty of time to develop them (Kingpin, Killgrave, Cottonmouth). The new TV series lack good villains.
I don't trust the current writers to do Dr. Doom proper justice.

Didn’t they undo the snap?
Which is why Spiderman and all the others came back? So it would be like Hitler if WWII and the Holocaust didn’t happen.
Do people remember it if they were traveling through time?
I think Doom is going to be a phase Villian. I

They didn't alter history; the people snapped away were gone for 5 years and then showed back up. It's a major plot point (and would have been a great idea for a sympathetic villain if executed properly) in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series. The time travel component was to get the tools required to bring everyone back.

Wait really?
Thor kills Thanos at the beginning of Endgame.
So they had to go back in time to when he’s alive to beat him.
Edit: Wait 2014 version of him comes into the present. NVM

quote:see i dont agree. Hemsworth pulls the comedian off flawlessly. the Comedy with Jane was the cringe moments. hell even Korgs comedy as cringe. Korg should only have a few comedic lines. less is more with him.
It was bad since they now like to turn Thor into a comedian most of which was cringe.

There was a lot wrong with the movie... it was just too crowded. Hard to repeat how awesome Ragnarok was. Too much humor... sure... needed more Gor absolutely, but it wasnt a bad movie. It was still fun... made you laugh, made you have the feels....
Im also having a daughter in a a few months so i guess the ending appeases me more.
