Peter Parker is in this movie and people have been clamoring for Miles Morales to be in a movie for a while now. He's fairly popular.

Seriously, the white superhero ship sailed a decade ago. It's like bitching that we had a black president.
If a Blacktino Spider-Man is getting an added push from critics, maybe it's because it's different from the warmed over Ditko 50's/60's origin that we've seen again and again. Repeatedly retelling a classic tale can make it less classic.

So tons of critics are calling for this and you couldn't name one of them.
I've seen articles that talk in regards to Black Panthers campaigning for consideration, but I have yet to see this onslaught of critics demanding that it be nominated.

i don't read comics, but i do play video games and he's a side character in the current spider-man game.
i think he's relatively new so who knows how long people have been "clamoring"
