Hate to break it to you bud. I don’t follow comics but I enjoy superhero cartoons and the movies. And I have known about Miles for a while. He is on the new Spider-Man cartoon on Disney. He is in the new game. In comics and now in a movie.

Just because you don’t know who he is doesn’t mean they are pushing SJW while putting him into the movie.

Hell when I heard they were rebooting Spider-Man for the third I actually was hoping they would go with Miles as the main guy just so it wasn’t the same ole story for a third time.

So no one can answer where non comic readers would know Miles Morales from? That's what I thought.

It doesn't matter... at all. Are movies not allowed to introduce new characters?

I've seen articles that talk in regards to Black Panthers campaigning for consideration, but I have yet to see this

Publications such as THR, Variety and several others have pushed for a nomination.

Just gonna ignore that huh buddy? It also has the third best odds to win according to that betting thread. But ye, just dumb twitterers

After really disliking a bunch of movies with absurdly high scores I have just stopped caring about their ratings.

Ignore What?

The Hollywood Reporter and Variety? Exactly what input or influence do these publications have on The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences?

Third best odds in betting thread? Are you some degenerate gambler?

I was waiting on you to name a critic or at least one credible person within the film industry that has been demanding this seeing has how everyone is doing it right?

Are you saying these aren’t giant publications with influence? My bitch this all started because you acted like it was random people on twitter yapping for it to be nominated when it clearly isn’t.

Fortunately, “Black Panther” has at least one confirmed Academy member supporting it, and he happens to be a directing powerhouse. Deadline reporter Pete Hammond ran into Christopher Nolan, and asked which films were on radar for next year’s Best Picture race. Nolan said he predicts a Best Picture nomination for “Black Panther,”

Clearly, Chris Nolan is just a nobody

But the best Spider-Man movie was SM2.

This animated spectacular is the best 'Spider-Man' movie since the first 'Spider-Man' movi

quote:

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse isn't just the best Spider-Man movie to date, but it's also better than most Spider-Man comics.

Now we're just getting silly.

Miles was an "OC" cash grab by bendis though. He killed Peter then brought back green goblin so Pete's sacrifice was for nothing.

Except you said it critics were calling for it.

Now you have a story where someone from Deadline is reporting that a director is saying that it should be "on the radar"

I have seen plenty of articles saying it is campaigning for the nomination. But nowhere am I seeing critics demand its nomination.

And yes those Publications have no influence on the academy.

Not sure why anyone who goes to superhero movies would not want to see this.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Clip on YouTube

The character design, character and background animation... all look beautiful. The action and dialogue look fun as hell. Great voice casting for this particular Peter Parker.

Yeah, I'm seeing this after that clip. I wasn't sold on the animation from the trailers but after seeing a full scene I think it looks great.

How many non comic book readers knew about like 80 percent of the hero’s/villains in the marvel movies before they were introduced into the movies?? People can never know a new character if you never introduce people to them.

$1,000 says they'll push miscegenation with Gwen Stacy. I'd love to be wrong.

Already happened in comics.

They needed a reason to make our Pete and other Gwen not a thing.

Eta: Remember the editorial mandate is 616 Peter Parker is not allowed his marriage any more.

So for Quesada making him deal with the devil. We can't have a main line Spider-Man attached to MJ, Felicity or Gwen.

Eta 2: Man, Injustice was such a shite but fun comic. The Dr Fate reuniting a Canary and Green Arrow of different universes after they lost their Ollie/Dinah was a pretty good one.
