Assuming Tony got whacked in the final episode

Who would have taken over the DiMeo family? No way Paulie was going to run things. Does Silvio bounce back and take over? Does Little Carmine absorb it and run it by proxy?

Butchie/New York takes over.

Butchie gave the okay to whack Phil, and becomes the boss of the Lupertazzi family. Then he double crosses Tony and the lupertazzi family absorbs whatever is left of Jersey. Patsi and Paulie more than likely fall in line to save their own hide.

Paulie might get it temporarily as a reward for betraying Tony, but gets whacked in like 2 weeks as an ineffective leader and either Patsi takes over or another strong headed up comer takes it

Why “assume”?

Watch that final episode already and remove the doubt!

NJ gets busted down from a family to a crew.
Paulie and Patsy are the captains, Silvio was incapacitated, Baccala was whacked, Carlo had flipped

Paulie took over the protection, shylock and sports book
Patsy took over what was left of the garbage, construction and unions

Paulie, Patsy and Silvio would have been arrested on RICO soon after from Carlo/Big Pussy/Massarone/Ray Curto/etc all flipped

I subscribe to the theory that Patsy was the one who betrayed Tony for the hit in revenge for his twin Brother Philly getting whacked.
How Machiavellian was Patsy Parisi?

Benny - very loyal to the crew and became more involved as the show came to an end. Helped take out Phil

This. Carmine Sr. always said they were nothing but a glorified crew anyway. This is just fulfilling their destiny.

I think Meadow takes over and moves the family to more white collar crime.

Paulie doesn't take over shite. Tony had a soft spot for him because he'd looked up to Paulie when he was younger, but he's a street guy who wouldn't last long in management.

It's Patsy all the way. Time was on his side.

Butchie had no choice but to whack Phil after Phil said frustratedly that “they’d talk” after Tony was finally taken out. He went a step further and kept the hit on Tony.
