It's far too late for that. And at this point, I think they really are going for an intentional erosion/destruction of "cishet white male" Star Wars. They seem to be proud of "ruining your childhood." They even got Mark Hamill to say those exact words, so it's clearly very important to them.

And it's the perfect cover for their total lack of creativity. The characters, plots and dialogue (you know, artistic elements of stories) are comically bad, so they need another way to make it look like they're doing very important work, and are very important people who deserve very important salaries.

But it was bound to fail. Kennedy is a hack who did jack shite to deserve the helm of such a huge property, but she got it by being a she. So be it. That's how you get purple haired Tumblrinas, pointless giant cat races and ashamed sea cow titty drinking.
