So what was supposed to be so offensive about the Larry David monologue?

The politically correct crowd watches SNL. Just about everything except making fun of working people or Trump is off limits. The monologue was not funny but also not offensive.

You can't joke about Harvey Weinstein or Hitler's concentration camps

He used the J word. And a funny joke about picking up chicks at a concentration camps.

I thought this was a really funny episode. Plus I had to do a double take to believe that Miley Cyrus looks much cleaned up and kinda sexy.

I think this skit was the funniest of the night.

They're offended because Trump is putting gays, blacks, and Muslims into concentration camps by the 1000s. Van Jones warned us this would happen.

The really damning part is that we don't even notice they're gone.

Seems okay to me? But I’ve always been a big fan of LD type humor.

I'm guessing that some people are pissed off about making light of the Weinstein and rape/sexual harassment stuff that has been going around. His whole bit was really very dark. Several of his jokes pushed the envelope of appropriateness. The fish with high mercury content instead of a condom was a pretty big jaw dropper. But that's kind of the point, and it is his shtick that he pushes at being kind of an insensitive a-hole.

frick it. Nothing is above humor (imo). Everything needs to be made fun of. If you aren't pissing someone off then you're playing it too safe.

He's Jewish. He gets a pass on making jokes about Hitler and concentration camps. That isn't what pissed people off.

He did a holocaist joke. Taboo in the Hebrew community.

are that many people even upset or is this just one of those stories that gets farted out by a lazy writer who included some comments from randos found on twitter that has been turned into a click bait worm slowly wriggling through every online rag?

The first half was so bad it was funny. How the frick the guy who created Seinfeld and Curb could bomb that bad is amazing. Old age I guess.

The second half about picking up women at a concentration camp was nothing but cringe.

"There are no good opening lines in a concentration camp" wtf

Actually, I could appreciate the humor if dipshits like Larry David, Alec Baldwin, Miley Cyrus, and the SNL/SJW crowd didn't treat every Trump slip as an act of war.

If that's offensive, I assume no one offended has seen Curb your Enthusiasm

Aside from my natural inclination to cringe at a joke about concentration camps I thought it was still funny and not something to get worked up about.

He tried stand up back in the day and by everyone's account including his own he was terrible at it.

I thought overall the show was pretty funny. The monologue was weak though.

I thought it was funny. He's not a standup comedian, but it was obvious he wrote the jokes himself.

The Holocaust joke was awesome.

The Weinstein joke was funny.

As for the episode as a whole:

I'll get this out the way because i cannot understand this board's love of her: Cecily Strong is fat. And ugly. And annoying. She looks awful in skin tight dresses and shes annoyingly stupid in every skit she's in.

Baldwin's Trump cold open was surprisingly toned down. It wasn't really funny, but atleast it wasnt stupidly overly political. It was just a stupid caricature with old jokes and stale shite. Though as usual, McKinnon and Bennett were the best parts of an otherwise shitty sketch.

Career in retrospect was funny.

My new wife had its moments. The breaks were great. Kate McKinnon's reactions made that skit and Beck Bennett was solid as always.

I was confused by the price is right sketch. Is Lil Wayne even still around? Does anyone know who Tony Bennett is anymore? Desperate poop jokes by Baldwin were just bad. And Leslie Jones continues to struggle to read cue cards.

Weekend Update was god-awful as always. Michael Che and Colin Jost have their heads so far up their own asses its almost impossible to watch. These two have murdered the Update Desk.

Agree. I laughed out loud this morning at the "Hows it going?" when he imagines hitting on a woman in a concentration camp.
If that's not fricking funny, it's you not David's joke.

I'm a big LD/Seinfeld fan, but I feel like Larry David has become a little of a caricature of himself and he's better off out of the mainstream. Seems like he's forcing things.

Is he going to get Fatwa'd in real life for this? Would be the most Larry David thing ever.
