get why for a live action movie they didn’t go with Lord of the Rings style dwarves. What’s the point of live action if you stick with cartoons?
Peter Dinklage criticized them for using dwarfs so they went to CGI instead.
He made it in Hollywood already so he doesn’t want more of them to earn roles apparently

It will do a decent opening then fall off a cliff once word of mouth gets out of its dogshit, just like every other Disney & Marvel project over the last 3 yrs.
They've clearly been hiding this film and keeping out of the media for the last 3-4 months and just showing a teaser every now and again in hopes parents and audiences will forget about all the previous idiocy around the film.
We'll see if it works.

For the people that think Disney’s actually spending big money on marketing this thing

Disney is hosting a Hollywood premiere of “Snow White” on March 15, but the studio won’t be rolling out a robust red carpet like it usually does.
The afternoon festivities will include a pre-party and screening at the El Capitan Theatre with titular star Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen, expected to attend. However, the red carpet will not include the dozens of media outlets usually invited by Disney to interview the cast and creatives at its premieres.
Instead, coverage will be limited to photographers and a house crew.

So stupid. Fantasy dwarves are not humans with dwarfism. Should have used normal actors like they did for Gimli, etc.

THR says 53 mil opening weekend
I think it does more than that, but doesn't meet Zegler's expectations.

Even if that budget hasn't gone up by a single cent since 2023, when you factor in the marketing they are doing for it now, it's going to be north of $300 million when all is said and done.
And it's going to end up making a billion worldwide when it's all said and done.

Disney‘s feature take on its classic 1937 toon Snow White finally is hitting theaters this weekend after weathering a tormenting, blown-out-of-proportion tabloid controversy. Domestic is looking to land between a $45M-$50M opening with another $55M abroad.
The reported $270M feature production came under fire on social for the casting of Latina-Polish descent actress Rachel Zegler in the lead role. She pushed back against the criticism, in addition to the actress’ candid remarks about the original film and a slamming of Donald Trump and his supporters back in November

69--->53----->45/50
There is a trend line
I have to assume there are enough dumb kids to annoy their parents that will ensure it gets at least $50 million
Maybe, if it is as good as the Disney reporters at the Disney event say, it will get a word-of-mouth boost to get Mackie's Captain America numbers.
Zegler has been muzzled the last couple months, that has to help

I doubt it hits 50. 45 would be a win based on presales. This is the first time I've seen international predictions. Opening under 100 mil WW is really bad, but I'm guessing Disney is expecting this.

They kicked the can down the road. Now they are just at the "frick it. Let's release the thing and get SOMETHING back"
Gadot deserves better

Now, with Snow White set to hit theaters on Friday amid Trump’s second term, which has included attacks on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and anything too “woke,” the same criticism lobbed against the movie, the actress is speaking out about diversity.
“My only prayer for the future of diversity and inclusion,” Zegler tells Allure, “is that we invest in and nurture talent no matter what they look like.”
And Zegler says moviegoers can take lessons from Snow White’s battle against Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen, with Allure calling the character, “manipulative, authoritarian, and consumed by demands for loyalty and [a] lust for power.”
She says, “That’s why it’s so important for the next generation to see movies like Snow White. To realize there’s nothing wrong with choosing to do what’s right and that it doesn’t have to be with anger or a clenched fist. … Snow White chooses kindness and still makes change. Power takes many forms. I hope we’ll see a new dawn of kindness and acceptance in the next couple of years. And people don’t see the need to use hate to cause further division.”

Whats your point? Disney buying a studio isnt the same thing as a Disney/Marvel project succeeding
1) Inside Out - Pixar
2) Deadpool & Wolverine - Neither character was a Disney original
4) Despicable Me - Universal
5) Wicked - Universal
6) Dune - Warner Bros
8) Godzilla & Kong - Neither one Disney properties
9) Kung Fu Panda - Paramount
10) Sonic - Paramount
I mean they bought LucasFilm, and look how that skyrocketed for them
/sarcasm

I’m not sure telling half the country, which includes people who buy movie tickets, you hope they “know no peace” is really blown out of proportion. It’s just dogshit media awareness.

Forget this girl being terribly unlikable, I’m a jackass for source material.
The fairy tale describes Snow White as the fairest in the land. With skin as white as snow and blood red lips. And coal black hair.
I mean Jesus Christ.

I dont really know what you two are arguing about, but you appear to be using some weirdly stupid data in the making of your point, applying a qualifier to Disney that you're not applying to the other studios.
Despicable Me is Illumination, which was bought by Universal.
Kung fu Panda is DreamWorks, which was bought by Paramount.
Sony originally developed the Sonic movie, then Paramount took it over.
Dune, Godzilla, and Kong are all owned by Legendary, who has a co-financing and distribution deal with Warner Bros.
Inside out 2 was fully developed within the disney-owned and operated Pixar, not independently.
So, no major studios can claim successes? Besides Universal for Wicked? Oh, and Disney, for the #3 #7 films you left off, Moana and Mufasa, developed fully in-house.
