How about the Olson girls from Full House? They went on to create a billion dollar tween lifestyle empire.

Sorry... this is more than a little crass (but still funny to me). .

My old roommate used to have a shirt that said on the front I Banged the Olson Twins and on the back Before They Were Famous.

Don't think he's wearing it these days.

They're kind of a weird one. If we're talking solely about acting, their careers were largely over 15-20 years ago after their empire was built. And that was by choice.

Bob Saget and John Stamos have continuously worked, and each had good runs on How I Met Your Mother and ER, respectively. Candace Cameron has also had a rather successful 2nd career after raising her family.

And what is Ed Helms stellar performance as a leading male on the big screen???

If you wanna argue Krasinski, I could maybe see that going forward. But saying Helms is ahead of Carell is asinine

I’m still waiting on an answer where Helms was the actual lead outside of Vacation...

OP posed a pretty good question IMO, but then just doubled down on his own takes.

Same as the musicians post, which was good too.

I think the Wings - Tony Shalhoub and Thomas Haden Church is a really good one. They're not mega-stars like Pratt, Glover, Grande, Olsen Twins, Drake, etc. Tim Daly and Steven Webber are still working, but they were the leads. It makes it closer to discuss IMO. Even between them.

It would be interesting to me in another thread to discuss main cast leads that still did great acting work, but got surpassed by supporting actors. I think that was the intent of OP.

8 pages and nobody’s mentioned Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher in That 70’s Show?

Although to be fair, none of the main cast members were especially well known before the show. TIL Mila Kunis was 14 years old when the show started.

ETA: Whoops, it’s in the OP. Was so distracted by terrible Office take I didn’t notice.

Agreed, that was who I immediately thought of. Monk was so damn good, might to start a rewatch soon.

Some others that come to mind:
Olivia Wilde on House, M.D.
Kumail Nanjiani on Franklin and Bash
Damien Lewis on Homeland

Could we count The Simpsons? Didn't the show start out as a series of shorts on the Tracy Ullman Show?

I know it's not really what the OP is about, but it kinda fits.

Hey,if you wanna call people "leading men"
who do cartoon voice overs by my guest.

BTW,why do you have a panties in a wad over this?

Contribute to the OP or move on.You can always entertain yourself by watching Space Force or Burt Wonderstone or Dinner for Schmucks or Welcome to Marwin or any number of memorable performances in his resume.

Did anyone mention RDJ is Ally McBeal yet?

I would imagine he was on there long enough to count as a supporting actor rather than an extended guest.

Of course, if he was on ANY sitcom he'd pretty much win this thread.

Why are you refusing to list all of Ed Helms leading performances?

No one is saying those movies were hits
