I guess it doesn’t classify as a sitcom but Bradley Cooper in Alias.

A few years ago I would say Jason Segal but I think she’s passed him back up with Dead to Me and Bloodline

Segal is a very interesting case. I agree with you in terms of populatlrity or awareness of the average citizen, but he's now the creator and star of a critically successful AMC show, and he has a new career as a best-selling novelist. He might no longer be part of the conscious of people who mainly watch popular shows and movies, but he's doing very well for himself.

Ed Helms over Steve Carrell? Really? I mean he hasn’t done bad, but he’s probably most known for being Stu from the Hangover.

You lost me at The Office one. Worst comparison I've seen in a long arse time. Enjoy your downvote.

Joe Rogan on NewsRadio

But he went from acting to broadcasting. I don’t think Rogan has acted since Chapelle’s Show.

Went and looked: last major acting was in the Zookeeper. Given how the rest of the decade went for Joe, man that’s an embarrassment.

George Clooney

Did ER have a lead character? Seems like everyone got equal story time.

Clooney definitely became too big and famous for the show though.

Aside from Ordinary People, Mary Tyler Moore's career was essentially over with her show.

Meawhile almost every co-star had more success than her post MTM Show...

Betty White: Golden Girls, Hot In Cleveland
Gavin McLeod: The Love Boat
Ted Knight: Caddyshack, Too Close For Comfort
Ed Asner: Lou Grant, voiceover work on cartoons
John Amos: Good Times, Roots, Coming To America

Even Cloris Leachman and Valerie Harper seemed more relevant than MTM.

How I Met Your Mother.

Everyone did more significant work outside the show than the guy who played Ted. I don't even know the actor's name.

He was arguably the least famous actor on that show when it debuted though, either him or Segal

Dispatches from Elsewhere on AMC.

Last Reality is a young adult Sci-fi series he's co-writing with Kristen Miller. 3 books out so far. No idea whether or not the series is any good, but they've been popular. Apparently this is the second series he's written with Miller. Hadn't heard of the first.

I was referring to The Facts of Life and Roseanne, although he obviously didn’t have a big role on those shows.

ER definitely seemed like a true ensemble.

Rogan doesn't care about acting. He always wanted to be a standup and just fell into acting in the 90s when networks were giving every standup with any sort of name recognition a show.

Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have all had better careers than James Van derbeek.

What did she care? She married the President of NBC.I don't think she was wanting for roles or a career.
