i agree 100% with the horse sex scene. it really was cringeworthy. the show doesnt need to stoop that low.
i havent been too impressed with the first two episodes, but its still a great show

I thought E1 was better than E2. The Jian Yang Erlich scene was the best one tonight.
The horse one was not funny IMO.

Can we just watch these guys run a company? why do they have to always be screwed over and have things change on them or always have something that's about to go wrong? I just want to watch them react to success for longer than 5 mins.
this is still my only gripe
the story itself is very formulaic and I find it funny when the same posters complaining about GOT being too predictable/formulaic praise SV

RIGBY, you are wrong
Agree on the lose lose win lose formula though. I enjoy the non plot stuff far more than plot stuff though.

I bet Richard and the gang join with the guys from nucleus to create their own company and fight pied piper.
ehhh...maybe
what I think will happen is the ex-Nucleus employees will find themselves with a $20million angel investor in BigHead......startup a new company that goes up against Richard and PP, even though PP has shelved middle out

The funniest moment of this episode was the sales promotion film that mentioned foreigners followed by a photo of Dinesh.
Seemed like this was an episode dedicated to the utterly ridiculous method of valuing tech stocks and the manipulativeness of people in that industry. I know the entire series has poked fun of Silicon Valley types but last night's episode seemed especially revealing.

If you think the horse sex is beneath this show, then you really haven't been paying attention. that is just the kind of lowbrow dick joke this show loves. Hell, I loved it, too. Dick jokes are funny. I loved him having to have a meeting while two horses hump in the background.
And honestly, I find these struggles much more realistic than last season's. I felt that the failures last season were almost deus ex machina like, particularly how they deleted so much of the porn company's library. Like, they suddenly became incompetent as engineers. Having the engineers get bullied by sales is pretty realistic, as is Richard getting made CTO instead of CEO. And a company shelving its original great idea to do something else that makes more money is also quite realistic. I like these roadblocks much better, as they make much more sense.
But mostly, the show is still really, really funny. Though we need more Big Head.

well to be fair, huge difference in a zany comedy with crazy characters and a serious drama
i really don't care how SV ends up (or what happens along the way) as long as they keep including funny shite as they go

I laughed out loud several times.
I don't know what all the whiners really want out of the show. Being all 'my way or the highway' with something somebody else made is such a futile waste of time. It's funny; just enjoy how funny it is. Damn.

Another weak episode, show is slipping.
What? The show is finding it's groove now. It had plenty of LOL moments.

Horse scene was stupid.
No it wasn't. It was a mockery of what ridiculously wealthy people could do with their money. Vet appointment. How many thought a cat or dog? And you thought that was more cringe worthy than them figuring out how to code by how many dicks they could jerk? It's like you people have never heard of Mike Judge.

why do they have to always be screwed over
It's how silicon valley works. The show nailed the engineering/sales. Conjoined triangles of success. What we learned from this episode and what they lampooned was at the end of the day, whatever drives a stock price up is what they're going to focus on.
