I still have no idea what Pied Piper actually is or offers

Imagine converting a 14 gig movie to the size of an mp3 without losing any quality
And transferring a 14 gig movie the speed of an mp3

Exactly. They got all of their techie friends to look at it and they all loved it.
The only regular person to look at it is Monica and she was baffled. Its not made for regular people.
Obviously, that will be the problem.

Erlich makes me want to kick kittens. He's become insufferable. He has no redeeming qualities, which is, I'm hoping, why they made him sell his shares--to try to bring some humanity back to a character that has become a caricature.
Obviously that's the point. You could see it in him this episode. He was clearly beat down and humbled, and extremely sad.

Was it obvious? I don't know. We've seen him get slapped around before only to come back an even bigger dick. They've taken him to an extreme that's almost irredeemable. I hope I'm right. I hope he does become more likeable because he is almost singlehandedly ruining the show for me. Everytime he's on screen I cringe.

Good episode. They are on a high and feel great, yet have no idea Elrich just gave his Board seat to Riviga. The UI is clunky, everyone who Beta tested was in the industry and liked the high level user interface, even Hooli. The public may not. We'll have to see.

Would be epic if this show inspires someone to come up with this loss-less compression algorithm.
Pied Piper would be epic. You can download a MP3s in seconds. Streaming loss-less 4k, the ability to face time in HD from anywhere in the world (even places with shite internet), downloading 3-d 4k movies in less time than it takes to say "3d 4k movies".
Pied Piper will be a multi-Billion dollar brand, for sure.

I was about to say...looks like an incredible program that I would have absolutely no idea how to use.

I know what like 10% of those settings mean

Yeah exactly. It might good for businesses to use but regular consumers will be completely and utterly baffled.
A regular consumer doesn't want to think through all that stuff. They just want it to do what it needs to do. Convert, The end.
I also laughed when the mentioned Slack. My wife and I saw a commercial for them that didn't mention what they do at all. So I looked them up and I still don't understand what they do.

Its like Homer's internet company.

Wait, it's not an uncommon occurrence? So then it's... ok... got it.

The UI looks like Handbrake.
Which I still use but don't understand 85% of it.

The Monica not liking the beta storyline makes no sense to me
i think we are going to see Monica represent the "average person" viewpoint. So far all of richard's invites went to tech savvy people. What about non-tech opinions of the beta?
EB no doubt kept his shares but sold his seat on the PP Board to Raviga to pay off his Bachmanity debts.

The ending credit scene made it seems that Bachman didn't sell all of his shares, but instead mad a deal to do some bullshite Richard won't like. He's clearly involved still in some way.
With him and Laurie having dominate control they could do some shite Richard really didn't like. Like a massive marketing and commercialization or something. Remember, Richard wants this to be a free platform for users that then turns into a paid subscription like Dropbox. So we'll see.
As for the UI - that will be the predictable failure. Average people will hate the UI, but tech geeks and companies will love it so they'll have to adjust or whatever and it'll make Richard hate himself.
Bachman went through Alot the last 3 episodes. I really hope it's going to mellow his character a bit. I like him alot but he has gotten a little annoying and extreme lately.
Jared continues to be the best character on the show as of the last few episodes.
His revelation to Dinesh and Gilfoyle that they are their own best friends was hilarious.

I like where they are now and I pray to god that they don't somehow frick themselves. If they have another road block or shoot themselves in the foot somehow, I am done with the show.

I'm not going to stop watching. I am too invested in the show and characters to stop. But I am going to be pretty damn upset if Pied Piper as a company takes another huge step backwards.
Like I said last week, I hope the company hits it big, but the characters themselves have failures and things that keep drama and comedy balanced. It's hard to root for or give a frick about the show when it gets too predictable with its failures. But giving them a profitable company that they hate while trying to make the company something else would he solid. They'd have money to spend, which would be funny, they'd hate the profitable company, which would be funny, and we could watch them fail with the end user average beta, but theyd have overarching success which makes their failures palpable.
For instance, it hits it big with the box and with big companies in the background, but the show focuses on them trying to get to the average end user market, etc...

they foreshadowed pretty heavily that the average person isn't going to like the application/interface
the initial release is going to bomb, which to me, isn't exactly like the "Richard tripping over the cord" moment, but more in line with actual real life as initial releases bomb all the time in the tech world
