Loved this episode. I thought Cal redeeming himself for his daughter was a great touch. I hated the thought of Ward getting the Tahiti Project a few episodes back when Coulson offered it to him, but I actually like it for Cal.
That ending though.
I guess Simmons will come out next season being some sort of possessed Inhuman killer or something, which I'm not a big fan of. I hope they don't drag that out all next season.

ETA: that Ant Man trailer gave me a ghost rider feel. Looks to be a one and done type of movie.

That artifact thing is suppose to be some sort of Kree weapon built to destroy the Inhumans. So I'm guessing that since it grabbed Simmons, it will turn her into some sort of Inhuman killer or something.

The show and movie are not as closely tied together as they were leading up to Winter Soldier.

Yeah, but the episode after AoU reveals how Theta Protocol is used in the movie, so it would be a spoiler if he watched that episode before he watches the movie.

I don't know if I like Ward going so clearly bad now...
They did need to define him a little more I guess. He couldn't keep straddling the line and being so mysterious in his motives but now he's Lady Hydra? I guess we'll see. Won't be the first curveball we've been thrown with him.

They really jam packed a lot of action and new info into the last 20 minutes.
The folders Skye was handed were labelled "Caterpillars". Looks like the beginning of her secret warriors project.
The scene with the fish oil is probably the biggest thing the series has done to set something up for the movies. Now we know how Inhumans will be popping up all over the globe.
I did like how they thinned the herd a bit on characters, but it's just going to get similarly bloated next season, especially with Ward going full Hydra.

I loved the way they set up the Inhumans showing up everywhere. If Marvel can ever wrest back control of the XMen universe, that could be another whole season or 3 of content.
And Simmons getting eaten by the goop? WTF!?!? Excellent way to end the season

I don't think she's going anywhere. They've raved about how much they love her character. They being people associated with making the show. And the actress certainly won't be looking to give up the role any time soon if she has a chance to appear in any movies in the MCU, too much money to be made for that.

Would it not kill humans though? Or is it supposed to be so diluted that only Inhumans will react to it or something?

I thought about that. I just assume the show won't want to deal with explaining a massive loss of life so they'll just make up something about metal that in the crystal that was actually the harmful part of the gas just sank to the bottom of the ocean when the crystals disintegrated.

Seems like it would either kill you, or make you gain your inhuman power, if you ate it.
