I am shocked that the Citizen Kane of TV is not returning...

Most of these sequel projects seem to immediately get greenlit in hopes of convincing more viewers to watch the initial season.

Then they’re cancelled a year later.

Literally for 30-something wine moms.

Just like The Marvels was for cat ladies.

Shamefully I’ll admit this. I watched every episode and was entertained.

The writer.

And overworked CGI artists who probably contemplated suicide afterwards.

I didn't love the final product but most don't realize that it wasn't that far off from the actual comic from 80s & 90s.

The 4th wall breaking was very much in character, yes.

Her being dismissive and antagonistic towards her childhood-traumatized, 1/2 of the living creatures in the universe saving, cousin - not so much.

Jen ALWAYS had a good relationship with Bruce AND the Hulk persona, more or less. Even when nearly everyone else was against him, she was the one he would at listen to because she has always cared about him.

That's what turned me off the show; I could have dealt with below-average CGI because I knew how Marvel was treating their artists. I could have been okay with some of the jokes not landing.

I was not okay with them doing a hatchet job to her character.

I really like Tatiana Maslany and I think Ruffalo was even in a few episodes and yet I had no desire to watch any of this.

She-Hulk: Cost 225 Million Dollars. Abysmal, hilarious failure.

Godzilla Minus One: Cost 13-14 Million Dollars. (Brought in 100+ Million at the box office)

Until they drove it off a cliff with their version of "can we talk to the writer and artist please?"

There was no coming back from them meta-ing the show into a parody of a parody.

They couldn't get out of their own way on that show. They actually had a chance to bring something new and fresh to the MCU too

Deadpool is how you break the 4th wall.

She-Hulk is not how you do it.

The writers, the ones who gleefully waited 3 years to piss off the long time She-Hulk fans, couldn't help but insert themselves into this massive middle finger of a show to the audience and they thought themselves clever and hilarious for it.

This is why they fail.

It's still making money and will get a black and white re-release in Japan.

To be fair, with the MCU a single season (or movie, or even episode) serves it's purpose.

With this, they:
1) established a new character, if they ever feel the need to insert them in anything else.
2) got a little use out of Ruffalo, keeping him "current" as Hulk.
3) did also reuse Abomination
4) further cemented the MCU-Netflix link, with Daredevil making an appearance.
5) tied into Shang Chi, since Wong and Abomination were running a pit-fighting scheme in that.
