What I've been trying to say but you worded it better.

The argument against this is basically but by her being extremely dumb, unreasonable and overdoing she was being smart. That's deep.

Why would she trust the cops to do anything if she went to them? One of them she just had a fight with. He had suspicions of poisoning but all he did was turn that file over to Camille. The other sheriff quite obviously had a relationship with Adora.

Camille continued to take the poison to protect Amma who she though was going find Richard and then got to a point where she couldn’t fight it in the bathtub.

As for as Amma getting her friends to help murder...there was literally a case not long ago where a girl convinced her friend to stab a third friend.

I agree with you. It was one of the things I had a problem with. They tried to explain this by showing flashbacks of her cutting herself just before being poisoned. As if she was doing it for self mutilation purposes subconsciously. I imagine this came across better in the book, but on screen it either wasn't presented well or would have been a tough thing to present period. It just didn't work well IMO.

Which was also putting Amma in danger. The truth to all of this is that Camille didn’t think any of this through.

I think camille thought it was her fault the first sister died. If she hadn't rejected the poison, maybe the mothers efforts would have been spread out amongst the 2. Since Camille rejected, she felt Adora spent even more effort on the other sister

She saw this has a way to make things right maybe? You also have to remember, Camille is fricked up to and could come to some shitty conclusions on what to do.

That would explain when she thought she was going to die, she saw the other sister and she kissed her on the forehead.

not to be combative, but do you know much about other serial killers? HH Holmes, Bundy, Dennis Rader, Ed Kemper, etc....all were intelligent people who committed cliched horror movie type killings.

This show was basically a psychological crime drama. The last credit scene all of a sudden turned into something out of The Devil’s Rejects or some b level slasher.

If it weren't for this thread, I would not have watched the scenes after the end credits.

I hate it when they embed scenes into the end credits.

I think it was fitting for the way this series ended. I typically don't like secret scenes at the end of credits. But this series did it the right way.

The last credit scene revealed Amma as "the woman in white". So what are you talking about?

Sure it did. Her guilt with allowing her younger sister to take the brunt of the poisoning (that eventually killed her) combined with trying to protect Amma in the only way she knew how at that point makes a lot of sense.

She’s a cutter and a bad one at that. She’s clearly shown that within her character she has no problem physically harming herself so it wouldn’t be a stretch at all for her to also be willing to be martyr to save Amma.

She even basically told Amma that she expected to die when she told Amma to go get help

It's somewhat funny how alike Amma & Camille are in this book/miniseries. The only real difference between the two is that one Camille turned her violence inwardly and Amma inflicted it on others.

Also, I still can't believe Kelsey & Jodas helped Amma murder two people. Then I remember that this is a Gillian Flynn novel. So it's pretty par for the course.

Don’t forget that Camille, although smart, was severely emotionally damaged and had a big time drinking problem.

Which is why the discovery of Amma's behavior will probably send Camille down a dark spiral or even drive her to kill herself.

If you noticed after Adora is placed in prison. Camille starts to wear lighter clothing and isn't drinking anymore.
