Just finished it and I can't think of a reason why this was an 8 episode show instead of a 1 hour and 45 minute movie. They had so much time to fill you in on the details of the case, but never really did. I was completely lost on why the brother was such a strong suspect and then once they arrested him and they immediately know it was Adora and then she is arrested. Made no sense to me at all.

And the ending, I shut it off without watching the credits and didn't know the most important part of the show was in the credits. Who the heck makes shows or movies like that?

It’s not very realistic that Amma just happened to be friends with at least two like-minded psychos in little ole Wind Gap.

If you ever get a chance, check out the Shanda Sharer case. A handful of teenagers in Madison, Indiana brutally tortured and murdered her. Madison has a population of about 11k. Unfortunately, it can happen.

Just finished myself and don't have the beef that many have other than the implausibility that 3 girls would be able to keep a secret like that. Especially considering they were constantly F-ed up. The body transport issue bothers me as well.

Also, still doesn't explain why the MO changed? Why not take the teeth from the first body as well and who was strong enough to pull the teeth? Am I missing something?

Doesn't bother me that the girls would help her. Amma was super manipulative and even said "I can get them to do what I want but they don't like me".

Started this a couple days ago, just finished Episode 4. Can't wait to jump back in tonight.

I like the depth of character we've gotten from Adora; she started off so one-note. The slow unravelling of the past and present is killing me but in an entertaining way.

Amy Adams is simply incredible. Can we just give her a couple fricking Oscars already? Best actress of her generation, and it really isn't close.

Okay, just finished it and holy hell what a bonkers ending.

Going back and rereading the thread, the one outstanding question was about Adora's trial and her link to the other 2 girls. That's where the end of Camille's article comes in, where she said Adora "fell on her sword" and allowed herself to be seen as a motherly killer of kindness. I took that to mean she plead guilty to protect Amma.

Im just here to get downvotes and say that it this is a pretty terrible series and possibly the worst paced show ive ever seen.

I'd be happy to pair your anecdote with my experience; I watched it in 2-hour blocks over the course of a week and was riveted the entire time. The finale was an all-time great.

Maybe a binge watch is easier I dont know. Im not going to try and convince somebody to not like the show, I can see how people like it. Amy Adams was great too (although how incredibly horrible she is as a reporter/journalist is laughable).

But there is zero argument against it being an incredibly slow show. I love a slow show, but this just didnt move in the way it could have.

There were entire episodes that could have been completely left out and you wouldnt have missed a thing with the overall story.
