I watched this entire show and I got caught up last week. I am glad I did. With it being a week-to-week release, this thread might be the closest thing to the Lost era since then. The mysteries and the slow reveals and theories. Gonna be a fun ride.

Can’t remember the last time we had a week to week live thread going

So definitely something fricky going on with him.
Probably totally off with this, but my gut reaction was that he somehow IS Kier Eagan in a new body, or at least the result of a severance-type procedure or other programming in an attempt to recreate/keep Kier's consciousness going, but they haven't perfected the process yet. That would explain the weirdness/old fashioned language. Would be in line with them revering Kier like a god.

Yea the more I think about it the more I’m buying into the theory that he is Kier and this is all about transferring consciousness into other bodies. I’m still not sure why Mark is so important. Maybe his wife’s body was identified as a transfer body and he is able to “decode” her better than anyone or something like that?
Agree totally with the consciousness thing. It isn't so much being able to sever your mind but rather install a new consciousness entirely.
BUT... that all seems too easy for this show. I feel like we will get something even bigger than that.
As for Mark, I get the sense that he is just especially good at "meeting quota", the other Mark W made a comment about them never making quota so maybe it is as simple as he can build the consciousness through the computer program better than anyone else.
Regardless, this show is just outstanding at giving you clues and allowing you to create theories. Incredible tv we are getting

We got confirmation on what was becoming obvious, Mark is more important to Lumen than just a typical severed.
Cold harbor based on that earlier screenshot has to do with Miss Casey. I wonder if mark is putting her mind back together or something. Obviously encoded but that’s why they need him specifically.

Thats a very plausible theory.
I wonder if it expands and each one of them are putting certain individuals minds together with the scary numbers... Like each of them have people close to them they are doing this with, its just Mark is furthest along.
However, that doesn't explain Irving being there so long.

Milkshake literally fired Irving and Dylan. It doesn't necessarily mean that they weren't putting memories/minds back together, it's just that Gemma is the important one to Lumon for whatever untold reason.
Or - they could all be working on Gemma, but Mark is the only one that is really making a sizeable contribution to her reconstruction. The other refiners may only be adding a fraction of a percentage here or there, so they're replaceable, as long as Mark is pulling the bulk of the weight.
The other refiners in that scenario are mostly there to keep Mark company during the day and I wouldn't be surprised if Lumon tested the best number of coworkers for maximum productivity, that's why its 3+Mark.
ETA: That would explain the scene with Mr. Drummond's displeasure at 2 of the refiners coming from Branch 5X and Helena saying Mark S is the only one that really matters.

My prediction for Helena is that she will turn at some point and help Mark. She's trying to prove her worth to her father, who does not seem to think much of her. We've seen that she can be very cold and appears all in for Lumen, but I think her character arc will ultimately be to turn against Lumon and her father to help the innies out, maybe even sacrificing herself to let her innie live life outside of Lumon.

I think her character arc is going to a fun ride and she'll have feet on both sides and be conflicted.

I also think Cobel turns out to be a "good" guy somehow

My question is this about Helena/Helly: The entire operation has been disrupted since she arrived. Was it worth it early on for her to stay down there and stoke the “uprising” amongst the others just for the sake of a PR campaign? They could’ve removed her at any minute and say her outie accepted her resignation. Then the rest of the crew gets back to focus on their jobs.

Good question. I would attribute it to pride. If Helena pulls Helly from the severed floor, she admits defeat and looks even worse in the eye of her father. Also, probably overconfidence that Helly would relent and between Cobel/Milkshake, order would be restored. I don't think it entered their thought that the innies would be able to pull off the OTC incident.

I think thats a 100% guarantee at this point... Her going back in unsevered because of the kiss shows that she cares for hiim.

When Helena’s dad says “you will be next to me at my revolving”, was his statue revolving in the perpetuity wing? Maybe he meant one day Helena will be CEO and thus in the perpetuity wing on display.

Dude, I want to explore that. That's interesting.
For posters that mentioned the LOST stuff before, this is going to be that revisited for sure. I am 100% bought into this show. Y'all can see how much I'm commenting.

I just rewatched the episode where they first go to the perpetuity wing and his statue was not revolving.

Agree about the disruption
But I’m sure that the company made a big deal out of an Eagan being severed to help combat against criticism. Would be a black eye and fuel for critics if her innie resigned and the media got wind of it.
