I love how much Rickon loved Marks innie.

Brilliant episode in the way that it was really an episode to set up where everyone is at yet they still managed to push the plot forward.
We got confirmation on what was becoming obvious, Mark is more important to Lumen than just a typical severed.
The severed are working on something to do with Lumen that they don’t want the outside world to know about, likely with human dna or similar.
We still don’t know what Ms. Sobel knows or what is going on, but we get some insight with “Cold Harbor”.
We also know that it has not been 5 months, rather it was 3 days before all the innies were reunited.
A lot is unanswered but we did get sole level setting which will help push the story forward

What did Irving say on the pay phone? My innie got the message? Did he get in the car with Burt?
I initially thought Milkshake would have fired Mark S. immediately that night if he would have been at home like the rest of them, but since they knew he was at a party and talked to people and knew about Cobel they needed to get his innie back in the office. Then they started acting like he is the only person that can complete the file and the board caved to his demands and now I don’t know what to think.
This episode was needed and pushed the story forward but I hate going a whole episode without showing the innies. Cant wait for the next episode.

When he didn’t fire Mark it made it clear that he is the priority, then that was emphasized several more times. I wonder why they need Mark so much? Are they cloning people with his DNA and/or his wife’s? Do they have one of their kids or something they are using to clone people? Brings back the question of the little girl and whether she is one of their kids or a clone.

I hadn't really thought about it before but couldn't help but realize this episode that Cobel drives a white rabbit.

Alright...
> I'm torn on whether Helly/Helena is on the severed floor now. I was firmly on the Helly side but they handled her character super well in this new episode and there are some new motivations for her to go downstairs, mainly her reaction to watching the kiss. I think she may want to actually have that feel again for herself, similar to Milcheck convincing Mark to come back, love. Also, during the elevator scene, the only ding sound you don't hear which represents the employee becoming severed is Helena.
> So we agree they're working on Gemma right? That's why it was imperative to get Mark back, so much so that they brought back two terminated employees and Helly/Helena. The other roles don't seem too important if they just brought over two employees from a disappointing department and a foreign transfer. Getting Mark's input seems to be the key.
> I don't think Milicheck is severed but I do think we're being set up as him being the main villain this season. He now runs the severed floor and he's going to probably take more drastic steps to keep them in line. I also can't help but notice how many more menacing shots he has this season already compared to the first season.
> You kind of realize after the end of the episode that we don't know much about Dylan. Mark is there because of his dead wife, Helly is there because she's a Kier, and Irving is there because his outtie appears to be some sort of investigator. Dylan has a wife and kids, maybe his reasoning won't be as big and someone has to take a backseat to let everyone else have their more important stories fleshed out but I hope we get some more background eventually.
I love this show.

Wasn't part of the threads until now, and of course lots of questions about the series that have prob been discussed over and over, but how did Rickon's book get to the severed floor?

Cobel/selvig or milkshake took it off his outies front porch in season 1.
I can’t remember the reason.

Interesting they didn’t show Dylan’s wife.
They told the innies what a big deal it was in the public with what they did. Nope, not really.
Burt maybe would file a complaint some weirdo beating on his door, maybe.
Helly was at a company event. Can sway anyone there that wasn’t Kier with the drinking problem story.
Then Mark at a small party. Rickin thought it was cool. The sister is the only one to watch.
Didn’t really make a big public deal out of it.
And I questioned at first, but I think that is Helana down there with the innies. I have my reasons.

Yeah, it was Selvig/Cobel... I remember now.
But confusing why she would plant it down there when she seemed like so dedicated to the cause with her praying/mural and other bullshite. Even when she was fired and still went to try to rescue the company.

She didn’t plant it, they found it when they were looking around the offices and conference rooms

I don’t think they intentionally planted it down there. They were watching Mark and his house, saw someone drop off a suspicious package around the same time they were looking for Petey. They stole the package and Cobel and Milkshake had a convo about it and I think accidentally left it in the conference room. Mark found it while walking around the office and smuggled it back to MDR
I don’t think it’s Helena down there this season. The board said they were gonna give Mark what he wanted, even Helly. She went down the same elevator as usual.
I think Milkshake is probably severed, he’s just always on severed mode. If he were to leave the company or go off the reservation then they will flip a switch and he will forget everything he ever did at Lumon.

I think it’s Helana. Watch the elevators.

Wouldn't really make sense, but Dylan's wife's voice really sounded like Helly R to me on the show. Anybody else think that?

Yup, just rewatched that.
Pretty clear when the other two go down, you get a wide angle view and there are two dings (door closing and then Severance ding). When Helena goes in there’s only one.

I officially retire my theory of Helena being a mole on the severed floor.
Rewatched the elevator scene.

Ben Stiller just did a behind the scenes vid the other day talking about how they used different filming techniques for when they go down vs going up. Saw that the other day then saw Ep. 2. I’m all in on Helana being on the severed floor.

Down the rabbit hole we go

You're not picking up. I get i it.
I want you to know my innie got the message."
He hangs up and walks away from the car that pulled up - with Burt sitting in it.
My initial take is that it wasn't part of the Lumen stuff, but an Irv-Burt thing. Outie Irv is calling Burt and leaves a voicemail basically saying you don't want to talk, my innie got the message that you have a life on the outside. But Burt then pulls up because he actually does care about Irv in at least some capacity - even without the memories. This would correlate with innie Irv basically wanted to end his existence in E1 until Dylan talks him out of it.
It also could be much broader than that, but that's how I read the scene. Definitely need to give it more thought, just like the rest of the show.
