You can make a good argument that season 5 of the wire isn't as good as the rest of the serious but if you think it was "terrible" you are just wrong. FNL worst season was 2 and it was not close. 3-5 were all very watchable.

Just an opinion.

Season 5 of "The Wire" was more like a bad comedy than a drama. Between the idiot reporter and the 'evidence' as I'll call it, to not be a spoiler, it was too far removed from reality.

As to "Friday Night Lights," they focused on the Coach's daughter pursuing some grad assistant or professor, the Riggins brothers illegal activities and the school splitting into an East and West Dillon. Every once in a while they would throw a football, but they struggled to keep characters relevant when they should have been well past high school. The cast remains on of my favorites, but the story just was not good in the end.

This premise always cracks me up living up here, you hear it often. I have to explain to them the while it may be true as to Kim, it doesn't matter to the flip side because a wasp redneck wouldn't have her after who she has hooked up with. So that insult is not considered an insult by the party it is directed towards.

I just started The Wire and finished Season 1 last night. When does it start to go downhill?

I had a real problem with Season 5. A couple of major characters did things that seemed way out of character. There was still some good stuff during the season, but it wasn't nearly as good as the first 3 seasons. The fourth season was hard to watch with the kids in it, you liked the little guys and were worried bad things would happen to them.

Okay, sit back and let me tell y'all of a story, from not very long ago, of slight tipsiness and a friend who owned the DVD of a mid-80s series called "Sledge Hammer." *spoilers for an obscure 30 year old show* Now, I wasn't aware of the existence of said series until this point, but it was delightfully cheesy and very, very '80s, so we enjoyed it as only tipsy people can. The main character, the eponymous Inspector Sledge Hammer was basically Martin Riggs played for obnoxious comedy. His catchphrase was "Trust me. I know what I'm doing" said in a smarmy, cocky tone. Surprisingly, he frequently did know what he was doing and so the show went on. Apparently, though -- and now I'm relying in wikipedia -- its ratings were pretty meh so they planned to cancel the series. It seems that the creator discovered this in time to write a series finale. So the final episode of season 1 revolved around Inspector Sledge Hammer defusing a nuclear bomb in the middle of the city. He offers up his trademark "Trust me. I know what I'm doing" and starts trying to defuse it. The next shot is the entire city in ruins after the nuclear bomb goes off, with a voice-over of the Inspector's boss shouting -- like all police captains shouted in '80s movies -- the name of the Inspector in a rage. The End.

Then -- and we're back to wikipedia for the background -- it turned out the show got better-than-expected ratings at the end, so it was quickly brought back from the dead, with Season 2 taking place 5 years before Season 1. And that is how you ruin the perfect ending to a series.

Sons of anarchy for sure. Utterly stupid yet I watched every episode. So I guess I'm the a-hole. I honestly didn't even like it. Not sure why I continued to watch.

Also, while it's still airing, banshee. The show is beyond stupid yet I continue to watch.

Falling skies could have completely done without the stupid hybrid daughter and nazish youth camp stories. I'm hoping the final season will get back on track and wrap it up well.

The Lost Ship is pretty entertaining. I think they may have gotten to the getting back to America too quick.....but I'll wait to see how it goes before calling it a bad move

2 episodes into Sons of Anarchy Season 6 and it's definitely getting into that territory.

Heroes fa sho.

True Blood would be but I gave up on it in the last couple seasons.

HIMYM is the most glaring example for me...my wife would make fun of me because I watched every episode and the final 2-3 seasons were awful...

True Blood was another one for me...

I'm (embarrassingly) in the middle of watching The Royals which is campy and bad but I'm pretty hooked and it's already jumped he shark after one season.

I was going to say weeds, but the series got so bad, I couldn't finish it. It's a shame too. The first couple seasons kicked arse.

True Blood

Once I start something I have trouble stopping. I've watched countless series that never made it a complete season. Some sucked but I was hoping for a resolution because toward the end they got decent. In looking at you Alcatraz and The River.

I am currently watching One Tree Hill and struggling though the second to last season. I might as well finished since I loved the first 4 seasons.

It's just so boring now.

the wire season 5 is hot garbage lol anyone who says otherwise is just a blind fanboy. the first 4 seasons are pound for pound the best TV show ever written. the last season throws the baby out with the bathwater to come to a conclusion to end the series.

Anther show I really really loved that by the end I was like WTF is Luther. First season i was like OMG this is unreal. By the 2nd ep of the last season i was like shite, i got to see what happens so i got to watch but this sucks lol. Det Grey is probably the most horrible TV show character ever

Oh and OZ. SEasons 1-3 were amazing. after that it got old

Mad men lost me / started to lose me when they introduced LA. it never was a fast show but it was really nauanced. Having to split time between both places just means now nothing at all ever got done

I'm a huge west wing fan, my fav TV series of all time and season 5 is pretty terrible but seasons 6 and 7 they made a strong comeback
