I’d love it IF I could count on them to not frick it up.

As they have been very hit or miss (either great shows or absolutely horrible ones), I doubt I will be looking forward to this.

Do not need this.
I don't want to see other actors play them, and unless Filoni/Favreau are doing it, it will likely suck.

How about you do a show on a young Yoda, and what the hell happened to his kind since we know nothing of his race or where he came from.
We know nothing about Yoda before the prequels, and there's 800+ years to explore there.

young Luke

He was a whiny bitch at the beginning in the movies which is part of what made his growth arc over the trilogy compelling. I can't imagine young Luke being lead actor material if they stay true to who he was in the movies.

For fricks sake, Disney is brain dead

I am so sick and tired of the fricking Skywalker saga. We’ve got 9 movies and several shows.

They can literally do anything they want in this universe but keep coming back to the same family.

Yup. Seeing Luke in The Rescue was my favorite TV moment in a long time, maybe ever. Grown men cried.

They did not. Grown man-child who watches comic book movies and has a draw full of action figures cried.

Can we just get rid of the Luke Skywalker era Star wars for now and Dive into the future to the ancient past like KOTOR

Mando is fantastic but I also want a fresh take on the universe as a whole

They already made a show about his father that completely ignored his character. They might as well do it for the son too.

Oh wait, they already did that in TLJ

Yes. We have seen "young student Luke" and " old washed up Luke", but we have never seen Luke as the baddest of the bad-arse Jedi. After that ending scene in Mando, I want this badly

Lord at the manchildren that awful company have released upon the earth. Every TV and cinema screen is a bad Saturday morning cartoon.

Yeah, Disney will screw up Skywalker. What do they not screw up? He's a heterosexual, competent white male character. Those will not be allowed to exist in the new Disney universe. And if you're still wearing your mouse ears loyally, you're part of the problem.

If they tell the Zahn stories. Then yes. I hate that the squels totally glossed over the best stories of Luke and Leia and zhan.

Aren’t they sort of approaching to this with “Ahsoka” and some of the “Rebels” characters coming over to the live action universe? It’s been years since I read those books so i might be wrong on the details.

New Luke Skywalker show, new LOTR movies. There was a time I'd be super excited. Now I just kind of dread it.

Millions of star systems throughout the galaxy, probably trillions and trillions of beings from the Core to the Outer Rim, and for 40 years, all we get are stories about this ONE FAMILY.

Lazy.

There has to be another Star Wars timeline that they can make shows about.

The Old Republic or Dawn of the Jedi Period, and it's endlessly annoying they don't at least make an attempt to explore it.

It's honestly the perfect vessel to allow some auteur writer/director to go wild and if it sucks, so be it, if it kills, you might just have revitalized and opened up the brand to enormous new possibilities and potential.
