I guess Family Guy must of pissed them off. There's like 10 animated shows in there, some i've never even heard of, but Family Guy is not on the list.

Family Guy has really, really worn out it’s welcome. Even Seth MacFarlane has said as much and the only reason he hasn’t cancelled it is because of his employees. He just comes in once every few weeks to do the voices at this point but is otherwise pretty much uninvolved in the show.

You can literally hear Mila Kunis phoning in her lines...I mean, literally, you can hear the buzz of the telephone has it is being held up to the microphone to record her lines.

MASH stuck around as long as it did mainly because there was so little competition. Alda had made the show so damned preachy and unfunny in the latter half that even as a kid I got bored watching it.

I would rather have seen The Jeffersons or Sanford & Son in that spot before MASH just from a humor standpoint.

I agree with everyone else here about The Office > Parks. That was a ridiculous pick.

An animated serial cartoon should not be considered a sitcom despite any generic definition a poster may cite.

MASH the first 3 years is probably the best sitcom seasons ever.

I have no issue with Cheers/ Seinfeld being 1 or 2.

I would replace the Mary Tyler Moore with Bob Newhart Show... Bob Newhart was perfection in his deadpan humor.

Also replace Parks n Rec with Frazier.

So you're trying to tell me that there are 99 better sitcoms out there than Schitt's Creek?

No, sir. I do not agree.

'Letterkenny' (Crave, 2016-Present)

Also way too low.

that's not the point. it's been on air for 19 seasons. They don't leave stuff on tv that doesn't make money, although if the trend of ratings continue for it, it won't be on tv much longer. The first 10-12 seasons were great. The Star Wars episodes alone should make it a top 50 series. The characters are iconic. leaving them off this list is just stupid. Same with Happy Days, the Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island, those are iconic shows.

It making money for Fox doesn’t say anything about its quality as a sitcom.

It had 3 good pre-cancellation seasons. Everything since its revival in 2005 has been pretty meh.

Nah, it started falling off when they renewed it. It got really up it’s own arse once it was the first show to be uncancelled thanks to DVD sales. From Season 3 onwards the Griffins all turned into awful people.

You’re letting your nostalgia filtered glasses get the better of you.

Are they though? Look up at the image I posted earlier, and that’s 11 years ago.

Saturday Night Live
Chapelle’s Show
Monty Python’s Flying Circus
Key and Peele

Here’s why Comedy Central’s Review with Forrest MacNeil is a sitcom: the plots correlate and build up from one another. If none of his reviews were connected and didn’t progress to largely ruining his life, then it wouldn’t be a sitcom, just a sketch show.

It really is.

I feel like there is a bit of a..."nose turning up to it" in some circles of critics.

But those are "sketch comedies"

They dont both need distinctions.

Sitcoms are just "comedies"
