Rob Reiner as a great director? lol. Nothing past “A few Good men” is what I’d call a good movie.

The guy is looney tunes, but:

Spinal Tap
Stand by Me
The Princess Bride
When Harry met Sally
Misery
A Few Good Men

Is a hell of a run

Yeah people generally like his work....

This is Spinal Tap
The Sure Thing
Stand by Me
The Princess Bride
Misery

But he is guilty of directing one of the worst movies of all-time in North.

Sorry I meant chronologically past “A Few Good Men”. Dude has done garbage for 30+ years. His 80s-early 90:‘run was great .

“Princess Bride” is one of my favorites.

They need to pump the brakes here. This movie rules.

It's the only QT film I dislike.

For me it’s Django. Some good performances, but it was a pretty bad movie. I liked Grindhouse. It was meant to be fun and campy and that’s what I felt like it was.

Death Proof is the least of his that I have seen, but some of that was intentional based on the style of film he was imitating.

The idea is that it is so disjointed because the first half of the film is intended to come from an abandoned project and is spliced together with the second half to salvage it commercially.

I understand it from an artistic POV but it doesn’t make it enjoyable as a whole.

They have the wrong Gus Van Sant movie on there...The Sea of Trees with Matthew McConaughey is definitely one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

The Ladykillers by the Coen Brothers (#11) is a classic in my house.

Any movie using a Kate Bush song gets an OK from me. Especially back then.

Planet of the Apes wasn't THAT bad. If you're gonna talk terrible Tim Burton movies, put that craptacular Alice in Wonderland movie in its place. Or probably Dumbo (I didn't see it)

Has Tim Burton made a good movie outside of Beetlejuice?

ETA- Pee Wee and Batman were good, I forgot about those.

Edward Scissorhands was great
Big Eyes was a nice return to form after some crap movies. Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz are quite good in it.

‘Alien 3’ (David Fincher)

Underrated movie imo.
I will never understand the hate for this movie.

I like it, but it is super dark. Aliens ended with Ripley closing a circle of trauma and looking like she formed a new family. This movie tosses her back into hell and kills off Newt and Hicks in a pretty awful, casual way. And it ends with her death. Killing a kid, killing the heroine - those are things that will turn off a lot of people.

I think it's excellent actually. Best use of a song in all of movies as well

Yes. If for no reason other than Kate Bush it’s good. Plus the Bryan Ferry version of Crazy Love is my favorite.

Always struck a chord with young me beyond the great soundtrack.

Alec Baldwin is such a slimy jackass.
