Omg that leak is awful, this might even be the worst movie ever in the star wars universe. Damn just horrible horrible. Seriously frick Kathleen Kennedy if that's even 50% true, but it sounds exactly like what we've been saying for awhile. frick you Disney. Almost makes me not even want to see another single Disney star wars product ever again.

It does however, render Ep8 as useless, and essentially a stand alone movie in the franchise. It would also reveal enormous plot holes in TFA (such as why not one even person pretended to have a clue who Rey really was)

The fact that the emperor exists kills the purpose of both Luke and Anakin, the two most central figures to the entire Star wars universe.
This would be an abomination of the Skywalker legacy. A mockery.
They might as well show a tombstone with "SKYWALKER" emblazoned on it and then have a guy pull his pants down and diarrhea all over it.

This seems much worse because it's like they stabbed us in the gut with TLJ and with this they're blow torching the wound.

Well, I was focusing on how the lasting legacy would be (spoilers ahead) . . . .
a more powerful Skywalker brother/sister combo eventually bringing balance to the force, than Luke and Leia were depicted as in the OT

The Skywalker legacy ultimately falls on Anakin's shoulders.
That leak basically proves that Disney is retconning everything Anakin and Luke ever did.
Retconning Anakin as the chosen one who brought balance to the force.
Retconning Luke as the one who convinced his father to fulfill his destiny.
Retconning that the emperor was gone.
What an insult that the trailer even dares to show a single second of the OT. They have disrespected and disregarded everything good about the OT.

I'm with you as a strong defender of the Skywalker lineage and Anakin's place as the chosen one. I'm not sure how they redeem his arc at this point but perhaps there is some crazy ghost buster way that he has to ultimately destroy Sidious' essence? Yoda spoke of the shroud of the dark side falling over the force, until Palpatine's "force ghost" is destroyed as well true balance will not be restored? Just taking wild stabs in the dark. I'll honestly be bummed if Rey is a Skywalker by way of Solo/Organa like Kylo and not the love child of Luke.
