Admittedly, that's a terrible idea to consider but I wouldn't out it past Disney to do that. However, let's say Palpatine is able to somehow influence Rey...who's to say Anakin couldn't do the same for someone he's actually treated to, his own grandson. Kylo follow the same redemption story as his grandpa in that scenario by finally defeating Palpatine/Rey there you have it, the Skywalker saga is complete.

What do y’all think about the theory that the movie will create some new type of force user?
I don’t think it has been discussed, but obviously Episode 8 was “The Last Jedi” and the whole its time for the Jedi to end, let the past die stuff. Rey ran off with the ancient texts.
Now episode 9 is called “Rise of Skywalker”. Perhaps the Skywalker bloodline will end, but a new, improved force user group will come about using that same name.

Obviously, but Disney doesn't care about the OT or PT. They only care about their politically driven ST. They only use the OT and PT to lure fans back in.
And also frick Hasbro. I have been collecting 3.75 action figures inch since I was 4, and they just announced no 3.75 inch figures will be released for ROS or the Mandelorian.

They are all over Star Wars leaks. They’ve more or less nailed down 75% of the plot.
