So it wasn't the cancer, but the pneumonia which got him.

Damn.

RIP.

As an old F-14 Tomcat guy, there's a special place in my heart for Val, Tom, and Top Gun. RIP, Legend.

RIP Val

To many you were an Iceman, but to me you were a Real Genius.

He wasn’t Val in that movie. He definitely was Doc. Dude laid on a bed of ice in his death scene for shite’s sake.

Watched this one in Pecanland Mall when I was 14. Great popcorn flick.

They mention Batman but not Tombstone? I guess the NYT wouldn't appreciate that one.

Going to watch Real Genius tonight after the kids go to bed.

Poor guy suffered a lot the last decade or two. He had throat cancer about 10 years ago, and had tracheotomies, chemotherapy, and a lot of other treatment. He wasn't in good health unfortunately.

Anyone remember that one episode he did in Entourage? I couldn't stop laughing at Val Kilmer as The Sherpa.

I can hear the conversation now.

St. Peter: Ah, Mr. Kilmer, we've been expecting you. Now give me a reason to allow you inside the Pearly Gates".

Kilmer: "I'm your Huckleberry".

There’s a nice little movie from about 2004 by the name of “Spartan”.

He played a sort of CIA special ops guy
with Derek Luke. He rescues the president’s daughter who has been kidnapped. Some foreign intrigue and action.

Everyone will cover the classics but I’d add Wonderland, The Ghost and the Darkness and The Saint as low key bangers in a great filmography.

Add True Romance. Small role, but he did it well as usual.
