It didn't destroy any values or characters from the previous 35 years.
This is just flat-out wrong.
The movie took a generational hero and shite all over everything that ever made him heroic.
Someone on this board said it best - Luke was the "hope" and his relentless belief in what is best in people is what made him a hero. He was ready to die rather than corrupt the faith he had in his own evil arse father.
Then we had to watch him nearly murder his kid nephew in his sleep because he had a bad dream.
frick this movie, forever.

TLJ? I have never been more disappointed than the night I left the theater seeing TLJ
I haven’t been back to a movie theater since then. That movie ruined movies for me.

You have to be a self absorbed, gas lighting prick to hear the criticism of the film and double down.

“The ultimate intent was not to strip away – the intent was to get to the basic, fundamental power of myth. And ultimately I hope the film is an affirmation of the power of the myth of Star Wars in our lives.” Rian Johnson
Absolute worthless word salad.
Absolute worthless word salad.

quote:The ongoing western IQ drop may prove this to be true. It sure as hell won't be the result of 'growing up' but rather, dumbing down.
We’ve seen this story before, give it 15 years for this generation to grow up then you’ll start seeing memes and a fondness for the third trilogy and the overall take will shift to “ya know what, that wasn’t bad” that turns into “actually that WAS good”
