Such a great show. It naturally gets compared to the office a lot and while I think I have to give the nod to the office almost just by default because of how all-time great the first handful of seasons are, Parks never had the dropoff office did. The highs were REALLY high, but maybe not quite office high, but the lows were MUCH higher. Once it hit its stride with lowe and ben coming on board it hit peak level and maintained it throughtout the very end all the way through the finale. I honestly don't think there's a single bad episode from season 3 onward.

Chris Pratt is fantastic in it, to think they didn't have him cast to do more than the first few episodes originally...

He/his character was so bad in season one I nearly stopped.

He became an epic success after that.

Mark was worthless.

Might be my favorite sitcom of all time.

Favorite sequence is when Ron brings home the feminist professor, despite all Chris did to try and impress her. Chicks dig an alpha.

I'm in the minority on here but I actually liked Mark Brendanawicz. His dry humor was funny and we all have someone we work with like that.

Agree. I really enjoyed Mark. Hated to see him go.
Jeremy Jamm was the WORST.

I was rewatching P&R recently and it hit me that Darren - the Pawnee Ranger that wants to join the Pawnee Goddesses - is Hawk from Cobrai Kai.

The growth in Andy/Chris Pratt throughout is something to behold. Really came into in his own during this series to become the megastar he is today.

It’s also in my upper echelon of comedy series and Ron Swanson is an all-timer as far as characters I love.

Also, the whole Garry/Jerry gag for years leading to him having an absurdly hot family is priceless.

I felt Jean Ralphio had just enough screen time. Sorta like Creed in the Office. More would have been to much. But him and Tom together were always good for a laugh.

This is what I think really killed Craig Middlebrooks' character early on.

They had his screaming, super stressed out character on too much and it became annoying. If they had done that in a limited fashion I think he would've been more enduring.

I agree. But I wish they didn't get the Scrubs treatment in that Season 6 would've been a perfect ending as everyone seemed to have a nice, happy ending.

Then season 7 came along and there were sudden conflicts from the time jump - Ron/Leslie falling out, Tom's restaurant failing and being single again, etc.

I don't think anything could have saved the Craig Middlebrook character, that was just a swing and a miss by the writers

I love Jean Ralphio. He had my absolute favorite scene in the entire series. It's the one where he gets hired by the accounting firm. The entire scene he takes one lap around the desks. During that lap, he gets hired and fired. It's great.

Andy and Ron make the show worth watching. The blooper when Pratt throws the briefcase and breaks the light was hilarious. Those Pratt blooper reels are incredibly funny.

And living to 100 years old and becoming a beloved mayor. They slow played his character so well.

I’m watching it with my 15 YO now and reliving a lot of funny memories.

You also pick up on how inappropriate it is when you have a 15 yo in there that you did not when you were watching it alone as an adult.

My son idolizes Ron Swanson so I’m hoping he amounts to something.

Donna is an underrated character. In the episode where Ron gets shot while hunting and Donna is outside screaming about her Benz getting shot, it kills me.

I don't quite agree. My memory could certainly be off here, but I want to say that the very end of season 6 we're thrown for a loop and we see everyone (or at least ben, leslie, and ron) in a completely new environment with things going at a breakneck pace. I think the last scnee of the season is ben and leslie dressed in tuxes getting on an elevator saying they're ready. Ready for what?!?!? Now granted they could have rewritten a differnet last 3 minutes if they did indeed want to end it at 6 seasons, but as it was shown that would make for a pretty terible ending. With season 7, although it had kind of a different feel with all the future stuff, it was a perfect sendoff because we got closure on everyone wrapped up in a nice neat bow which is fine for a lighthearted comedy.
