It was also weird how Ted Beneke’s story came to an end. It’s like they introduced him, brought him back in, then realized it was a mistake.

If you feel that way about Breaking Bad do yourself a favor and don't rewatch and spoil your memories of The Sopranos. The amount of wasted time/scenes and terrible annoying charters (daughter, son, mom, etc) are brutal.

The Sopranos gets better with every watch. Every single thing you see on screen was planned and on purpose. Zero wasted time or useless side plots. It's all critical to the story and message. Now AJ and Meadow's acting ability (especially in early episodes) sure I can see annoyance with that.

I've seen it like 50 runs through, still enjoy it.

Eh even if I believed that, which I don't, it still doesn't make some of those scenes less brutal to watch.

Still great, but amazed at how much wasted time there is in multiple episodes esp considering it’s only 5 seasons.

I thought this on my first watch. It was very good, but lots of the time it was just going

What made Breaking Bad great was how they managed to escalate the tension continually. If it’s a rewatch and you know what’s going to happen next and the tension building isn’t the same.

For me personally? The Wire.

ETA: I also honestly believe that by the end of its run, Better Call Saul will likely be better than Breaking Bad. And again, that's not a knock on BB but more of a testament to the quality of BCS.

Yeah for instance the last scene of Crawl Space doesn’t hit as hard when I saw it originally.

One of the few scenes where my mouth was agape when the credits rolled.

Watching this in real-time was an experience I'll never forget. I told my wife it was the greatest scene I ever saw in television or movies, after it aired.

My one big beef is that someone as meticulous and careful as Walter White would not have left that signed book sitting on top of his toilet. Why did he even keep it? He didn’t even much care for Gale, hell, he even had him killed. If he liked the book so much he could have bought a copy.

Question. I just finished my rewatch of Breaking Bad and want to watch the movie they came out with, El Camino. But I haven’t watched Better Call Saul yet. I only watched a bit of the first season but things were hectic around that time and I got too far behind to catch up. Should I watch Better Call Saul and get up to date on that or just watch the movie and then start Better Call Saul.

You can go ahead and watch El Comino. It happens after breaking bad and Saul take solace well before.

He "kept" something from many of his kills/conquers.

He cut the crust off of his sandwiches like Krazy 8. He took his whiskey neat at first but switched to rocks after killing Mike. He drove a Volvo after killing Gus.

I also thought when they moved the meth business into the pest extermination tent business was beyond silly.
That whole season was ridiculous, especially the jump the shark train robbery. Too much time got spent on the biker guys. Felt like I was watching SOA some nights.

When did he drive a Volvo? Also the best part about this series is the relationship between Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul

I think there are a few more they went over on the Bald Move BB pod.

The BB/BCS universe is very well crafted by Gilligan.
