I thought it was a very complex movie. The super hero crowd didn't like it, but it was fantastic. Some of the actions scenes with arrows flying around was great.

Given the praise and adoration this movie gets here probably so.

Won't ever make my list though.

I enjoyed it. But realistically, No one could have survived an attack and wounds like that. But it was not an all time great movie.

I may be in the minority, but I didn't care for it. Too unrealistic and down right weird in some parts.

It was good not great.

And I've said it here before, I would have taken Cranston in Trumbo for Best Actor over Leo in this.

I didn't care for it either, and Leo was not the Best Actor last year.

It's in my top 100, somewhere between Batteries Not Included and Terminator 3.

I thought someone did.

quote:

Despite his injuries, Glass regained consciousness, but found himself abandoned, without weapons or equipment. He had festering wounds, a broken leg, and deep cuts on his back that exposed his bare ribs. Glass lay mutilated and alone, more than 200 miles (320 km) from the nearest American settlement, at Fort Kiowa, on the Missouri River. Glass set the bone of his own leg, wrapped himself in the bear hide his companions had placed over him as a shroud, and began crawling back to Fort Kiowa. To prevent gangrene, Glass allowed maggots to eat the dead, infected flesh in his wounds.

a little too far fetched on lots of levels. But enjoyable for what it is.

yeah, its based on a true story but really took liberties w/ that. Lord Grizzly is the book to read not Revenant. I could not finish it because the scenery was obviously so wrong (they shot it in south america).

i watched it recently and enjoyed it alot, probably alot more than most on this board.

that being said, its not close to my top 5, nor is it close to my all time favorite western (and a somewhat similar movie) the assassination of jesse james with brad pitt.

Very good movie and one of the best of 2015. However, it's nowhere near my personal top 5.

It's nice to look at, that's about it.

The real story between Glass and Fitzgerald would have been more interesting than the stupid, shoehorned revenge story in the movie.

I just thought it started to get a little tedious with the repeated depictions of brutality. Just three hours of relentless harsh. Don't think I'll actually ever feel like sitting through it again.
