you've already admitted openly you don't watch movies/TV created in the last decade.
Well that's a demonstrable and ridiculous lie. I've never said anything remotely close to that!
quote:
every post you make on this board is you trying to push your politics under the guise of discussing media. noone is happy with the current direction America is headed, but we still find a way to not let it take over our entire lives like you.
I know misery loves company, but can we please not stoop to their level of letting politics seep into every aspect of our lives?
Did you even read what you captured and posted?
As for politics in movies, I'm not the one pushing any agendas into established IPs, as we've seen in Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Rings of Power, The Boys, He-Man, The Witcher, The MCU, Velma, and let's not forget games... Halo, Lara Croft, etc.. If they'd keep politics out of their stuff, we'd not have to talk so much damn politics. It's just that simple. I refuse to back down, say nothing and simply accept this crap.
quote:
you may be beyond help, but why are you so insistent on trying to make all of us as miserable as you?
Simple. I want this DEI, They/Them crap OUT of my movies, games and TV shows. I'm not even saying I want it replaced with MAGA or anything like that. Just let folks enjoy their escapism already. Not too much an ask.

Seems he's got a type. And it's not Joey Potter.

you sure use "WE've seen" pretty liberally
what politics have YOU seen in Star Wars/Rings of Power in the last 10 years?
Pretty sure you already stated you haven't watched any Disney Star Wars and I doubt you watched Rings of Power or Wheel of Time either.
Surely you didn't watch Velma
There are definitely DEI initiatives in media, but I think your idea of how overt it is is overly exaggerated due to your only knowledge of the material coming from sources that over-emphasize it for views chasing youtube money
I agree with your goal of removing all of that shite from every show, I just don't know how you think reposting youtube clips to a bunch of old geezers like us on tigerdroppings makes one single iota of a frick to the people that make these decisions in hollywood. you clearly think it does though, because you always say things like "i refuse to back down"
drive to hollywood and do something about it if it is this important to you, or hell get super rich and powerful and buy the studios like a movie villain. i don't know. I think what you are currently doing doesn't make you happy though. If you don't get any enjoyment from movies/tv anymore, just shut them out and find a different hobby.

I've never watched The Acolyte or any YouTube video about it and never will, but I think that's the same actress that is in the Apple+ show Bad Monkey.
Her story line in that show isn't great but she's actually a pretty good actress in it. Despite the lackluster story. But I was watching and couldn't tell if she was pretty or not (has kind of a banging body). Looked up some photos. When she doesn't shave her head like a man or wear a bull nose ring (which doesn't seem to be very often), she's kind of pretty, if you're alright with very dark skin. Though the more photos I look at, the weirder she gets. Very few normal photos.

She was shite in Acolyte. She looked like a chick reading lines. . .and the lines were dumb.
Hell, you would be extremely hard pressed to find a single line of dialog, at any point in the show, that was delivered naturally.
The only 2 capable actors in the show fall to heavy-handed over-acting by episode 7. . .and don't let up.

Yea I don't doubt any of that. I never plan on watching that show. Enough people I trust said it sucked bad and the lesbian witch thing was enough to tell me not to even give it a shot.
But given good writing, a lot of actors/actresses show they are better actors than when they are in shows/movies with bad writing. I used to think Jeremy Renner was a crap actor. He was always my least favorite character in the MCU. But he really just had a very boring character. Put him in the lead role of Mayor of Kingstown with good writing, and he looks like a great actor.

it's funny that this is your takeaway from listening to people talk about the show because they technically never even made "lesbian witches" a confirmed thing in the show.
the witches coven was all female, as witches covens tend to be in most fantasy lore.
the girls were created with force magic, not from 2 women copulating.
I'm not saying you should watch the show, just telling you lesbians were not something that was a major focus in the show, there weren't any scenes of any women making out or anything in the entire show.

I really thought he was great as hawkeye in the MCU.
Wind River was probably his best role though.
Is Mayor of Kingstown worth a watch?

All those season 1's I listed were where I cancelled Amazon Prime. For reasons well known.
Forgot that I did catch S2 of The Boys. (fixed)

Of course I watched that. 9 years 11 months ago, btw. And a few times since.
As well as Arrival, Joker, Minions movies, etc...
As I said, this is nowhere near a complete list. Just a sample.

Just stating what I have seen. Not saying they all got my 5-star rating.
But yeah, those 5 are peak.

I mean I knew there weren't actual lesbian sex scenes and had seen so much posted on here I got the gist of it. Star Wars isn't my cup of tea in general, so unless it gets good reviews, most likely I'm not even going to give it a shot.
It is surprisingly good. I'm only on season 2 right now. It's a little over the top at times but the overall story is pretty good and kind of a unique story. Good acting across the board. I'd give it a shot and if you don't like it by 5 episodes or so it's probably not for you. It gets better, but you get a pretty good grasp of it fairly early on.

Good to see you're back to your usual melting here instead of on the rant.

You need Max. Way too many good shows on there. Amazon is severely limited on the amount of good shows for free.
I rewatch a lot of stuff. I think based on overall catalog of quality shows, Max would be the last service I dropped if I was losing them.
