Yeah. Reacher is extremely intelligent. His humor sneaks up on you. It is never "In your face" one-liners.
Cruise got that part right, or at least a lot closer than this.
I think the Cruise version was a little too brooding for Reacher, but this is too much the other way as mentioned.

That looks very network tv-ish.
Good way of putting it

Looks like the guy that played Arthur Curry on Smallville
After hitting IMDB, I was correct. He's always been un great shape.
Bonus, Kristen Kreuk is in this show too.

Finally saw the preview for this, I'm absolutely shocked that it looks like it's going to follow Killing Floor. That book was really good. I just finished up Die Trying and oh boy - that's going to rustle some political feathers on TD if that's the way they go with season two. Book was written in '99 and it can almost translate to some of the modern conspiracy whackjobs.

I got into the books after the first movie. Then the second movie was so bad I lost interest in the character.
I read the first 11 books though.

Reacher is a force of nature in the books. He’s able to diffuse a ton of situations just by looking mean, and when called upon is able to inflict damage very quickly to diffuse the others. He’s also an expert investigator and extremely intelligent. If anything, Child almost writes him to be infallible, which at times brings down the stories.
Alan Richer isn’t a terrible actor, as long as they keep him grounded and believable in the intellectual side of the character. If you could put an actor with Tom Cruises gravitas in Alan Richers body, you have Jack. So hopefully this works. It’s a fun character and there are some excellent stories.

Holy shite I can't wait for this.. Like many, I've read the books and was very disappointed when a midget was cast in the movie. It was hard to imagine a person as small as Tom Cruise could inflict the damage of Reacher from the books.

Am I the only one who thinks Liev Schreiber was born to play the part of Jack Reacher? Sure wish Hollywood had a clue on casting characters like Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp.

He definitely has the acting capability and until I just googled it, I didn't realize he was 6'3".. Prolly could pull of the size as well.

I just hope the episodes are as easy to watch as the books are to read. I read Reacher books while on international flights
I listen to them while in the deer stand.. I've hunted all day trying to finish one before because I was so enthralled.

i enjoy the reacher series, but my main complaint is his invulnerability and the complete and utter megalomaniac type villians that are borderline running trillion dollar industries and running the world. the bad guy from the second reacher movie is the most realistic of any of the villains (acknowledging i've only read a dozen or so books.

if they do that will be interesting. i'm pretty hard right and was before i read it, of course in 2000's they were an easily demonizable group.
like i've said i don't think the right has a problem demonizing white supremacists or far-right separatists, have at it.
they just don't want to be associated or tied to them with it, which is what Hollywood has done for most of 2016 onward.

I'm assuming each season will be a different book? One of my favorites is "One Shot" but I think that was the one Tom Cruise did.

He is rarely in form fitting nice clothes.
He is almost exclusively in wrinkled cheap t-shirts and heavy-duty work pants -- cheap and durable, but never nice looking. And he has a "naturally imposing" physique -- not a gym-rat weight-lifter chiseled body.
This is what i recall from Killing Floor. And he wasn't invulnerable either. He made mistakes and almost got killed.
