Read all the books and wasn’t a fan of the Tom Cruise casting but this seems like the other extreme: Reacher
Holding out on full opinion until I see the series but it looks like it’s not going to hit the sweet spot.

I have no idea if it will be any good but the actor looked a lot more what I had pictured than 5’2 Tom Cruise.

I wish he acted as good as Tom Cruise, but he definitely looks almost exactly as he is described in the books.
It just seems like he is being way too tongue and cheek.

I liked the first cruise film but didn’t read the books. This looks interesting although I always question how a dude who looks like that castle always has people trying to bow up

At least they’re basing it on Killing floor.. such a great introduction to the character and good book

I liked the first Reacher movie. The second one was a total mess and I couldn't get through it.

That looks like it's gonna be good. Although I'm a little surprised at the "ethnicity" of the actor playing Reacher these days. Hell of an improvement on Tom Cruise.
I always thought The Rock or Rory McCann would make a good Reacher.

That’s some cringe acting. Definitely doesn’t have the presence Cruise brought. I mean. I never read the books but enjoyed the first film.

i'm torn whether or not the cringe acting is on purpose.
it's been a few year since i read any of his books.
while cruise is a fine actor and pretty interchangeable for any role like this, the character should be big and menacing, not overly handsome, awkward in dialogue, and drink coffee. cruise was honestly too smooth looking and acting to pull it off.

Yeah. Reacher is extremely intelligent. His humor sneaks up on you. It is never "In your face" one-liners.

He is almost exclusively in wrinkled cheap t-shirts and heavy-duty work pants -- cheap and durable, but never nice looking. And he has a "naturally imposing" physique -- not a gym-rat weight-lifter chiseled body.
meh... I sound like I'm complaining. I love the Reacher series and the character. I'll watch this and probably enjoy it too. I just hope the episodes are as easy to watch as the books are to read. I read Reacher books while on international flights -- they are perfect to unplug from everything and just casually read without having to over-examine the content.
