Yeah, this is much better than last season so far. Like the other dude said, that first part of Ep 1 had me thinking "wait, that's not right".

I've watched the first 2 episodes so far, we're enjoying it. My son has picked up on a lot of the little details they toss in.

Ok, I haven't read the books. No outside info or anything like that. But just something about the way they are presenting things, I'm starting to get a crazy conspiracy theory vibe here. If it doesn't turn out the way I'm wondering, I will post what I thought later. If it does, I guess we'll all know

S3 and S2 are like night and day. Amazing how much of a difference dropping that shitty unit of his makes, lowering the stakes, and centering it in one small town over whatever the frick S2 was which was so bad I never finished it.

The ending was like icing on the turd. Outside of some going to the victims’ families I didn’t like that they took the rest of money in the first place, but they way they were thanking Reacher for his decisions spending the money for them when they could have just quickly divided up the remaining amount equally to spend as they needed was pathetic. It wasn’t Reacher’s money.

I missed the blonde cop from Season 1. She needed to show up like Oscar Finley did, and maybe she could have gotten into a cat fight with Dixon.

The actor playing Reacher got too big for season 2, and he looked awkward in some of the running scenes and action ones. He also seemed more like the meathead faking being super smart that I was expecting in season 1 after watching trailers and previews but ended up being surprised he did better than expected the 1st season.

I enjoyed the first season and the second season started to lose my, so far in the third season I'm not 100% into it. Just feels like they are mailing it in and I can guess what is about to happen and I've never read the books.

Ok, just watched ep 3... my "conspiracy theory" was correct. But I kinda figured that would be a season ender reveal, instead it's done before halfway through.

Quick question about this season so far...

Do they simply have no camera on the property that Reacher is staying at? They can't see him climbing out the window and walking around the property? Nothing in the house? Nothing in his room? No bugs... nothing? You'd think, given that his son has been kidnapped once and almost kidnapped again there'd be cameras well... everything outside....

He did mention getting around camera angles once when he was on the phone with the lady. But yeah, seems like the place would be covered in them. But you also need to remember those people are not protecting his kid, they are there to hurt the kid if the dad gets out of line.

Watched the first 3 over the weekend.

Was confused/put off at the beginning of the first episode because it was very unlike Reacher, but then it was all explained and made sense.

Boston chick's accent is pretty bad but so far this is much more like S1 than S2...and that's a good thing.

Yeah, McCabe/Quinn doesn't give two craps about Beck or his kid other than keeping them in line to maintain the cover for his operation, but you would still think he'd have cameras everywhere for the exact purpose of keeping them in line. But I guess we just have to suspend our disbelief on that one.

Overall, I have loved this season so far. I think I might like it better than season 1 through the first 3 episodes. Hopefully the rest of the season maintains this level throughout. As others have said, during the first half of episode 1 I was like "what the hell, Reacher would never make these mistakes", and then when he said the words "I'm in" I was in too.

I've read the majority of the Reacher books, and I am convinced that the Reacher character is somewhere on the spectrum ... mild Asperger or something along those lines. I think Ritchson is doing a pretty good job of portraying that, down to the flat emotionless delivery of his lines.

What I cannot figure is the odd way that Ritchson has played Reacher's walk. That is NOT how Ritchson walks, so it is clearly supposed to be a part of the character, but I cannot figure its purpose for the life of me.

Enjoying season 2 so far, though Anthony Michael Hall seems a little trusting, especially since his whole crew starts dropping dead after Reacher shows up. Also, was a little silly when Reacher said he needed to be "number 2" to get the info he needed, and the episode ended with Rusty saying "looks like I got a new number two!" Little too on-the-nose.

Holy shite, I never would have guessed. We're getting old.

And I don't think he minds; as far as he knows, Reacher is crazy and a killer, but loyal to his son- not to the big boss threatening his son. He probably half-hopes Reacher can set them free. I wouldn't be surprised if the beginning of ep 4 is them in the car, and he spills the beans to Reacher. They're alone now, so he can talk freely.

What IS weird is how the crew just let Reacher into the fold. They ran his prints, so they know he's a potential major threat and not just a meathead. Maybe they're trusting that Mongo can keep him in line, but that's a dumb mistake by the late #2... he clearly saw that Reacher had him in the gym. I get that the other dude is bigger, but Reacher ain't small, and had picked up that 5 lb weight in his right fist. Reacher was about to frick that big boy up.

I read someone talking about this recently. The answer given was there's a specific stride you take when marching in the military regardless of your size. Reacher maintains that stride in his personal life even though it's shorter than his natural stride would be.

I have no idea if this is true but it made sense. Maybe someone with more knowledge can tell if this is true or BS. It could just be that the actor is banged up from the action scenes and added weight. I think he had surgery after or during last season for injuries during filming.

The standard marching stride is a uniform 30-inches, and it does make sense that Reacher's natural stride might be longer than that, given his size (6'6" in the books, as I recall, though Ritchson is only 6'2").

Since I am convinced Reacher is an Asperger kid, and given the attachment of folks on the spectrum to rote behaviors, it WOULD make sense for him to feel compelled to maintain that stride at all times. It would certainly be consistent with the way Ritchson delivers his dialog as well.

Now I have to rewatch an episode to test this theory. Thanks.

Technically true but unless you’re in a ceremonial unit or band you don’t spend that much time marching in formation. Certainly not enough to make it muscle memory.

Interesting notion.

SPOILER ALERT: (do not read if you have not read the book!
Basically, you are thinking that Beck will assume the role of his wife, who was alive in the book, with Xavier becoming essentially the sole Big Bad. It might work.
