Probably the most realistic part of the show

Which made the Roy wedding so satisfying, these idgets are struggling with life in freaking Scranton and Roy is out here learning piano and gaming high dollar trim.
Roy has big dick energy.

Wrong, Dwight is not a villain. Every other character has a stupid job at a dying paper company but is convinced they’re so much more than that. Dwight understands exactly who he is and isn’t interested in trying to achieve the impossible in order to validate himself. He just wants to be the best Dwight he can be.
At the beginning of the series Dwight is presented as having zero self-awareness, but by the final seasons you come to realize he is the only self-aware character on the show.

One of the most self aware moments on the show.
Roy loses Pam and he finds happiness, talent, and success.
Jim stays with Pam and he misses out on all of that as a sacrifice to her (first he sacrifices his promotion when Jan leaves and then he leaves a million dollar startup) and she ends up banging the sound guy from the documentary to repay him.

Dwight is the best character on the show and one of my top 5 favorite sitcom characters ever.

Once they get together they become pretty unbearable
Before that it was just Palm that was annoying

Worst part of the show. Everything they do is cringe because it's all so sappy. The only time there was any conflict is in the very last season when she starts to have some feelings for the camera guy. THAT was interesting. Who wants to watch the perfect couple wink at the camera and act like they're better than everyone?
That always pissed me off too. They acted like everyone else in the office was an idiot and they were the only smart people there. Hello, you're a fricking receptionist and your boyfriend sells paper. Get off your high horse.

1. I think I can help with the whole Pan/Pam situation
2. I liked Jim alot when I was in high school and college. As I get older and continue to move my way up in life and the workforce I absolutely hate him. He's a horrible friend and employee and coworker and salesman. The more I rewatch the show the more I find everything he does annoying instead of funny.

Dwight wanted to be the branch manager from day 1. He was a kiss arse who sold anyone out to make himself look better. He was too dumb to even realize he had a shitty job in the first place, unlike the others who just showed up, went through the motions, and collected a check.

In what world were they ever presented as the perfect couple?
I hate them, but they're written exceptionally well as a small town/middle class entitled shitty couple you hate at parties and offices. I go back and forth every rewatch whether the writers were really that self aware or if it was by accident. I think they knew exactly what they were doing.

No he wasn't. Go watch the episode where he pretends to fire Michael. Or when he quits. Or when he's at staples. Or when he team sells the big client with Jim. He's very self aware. But He knew that whatever your job is, you do it to the best of your abilities. It doesn't matter of you're a fortune 500 CEO or a small town paper salesman. You wake up and you bust your arse. You take pride in yourself and your job. That's a lesson I wish more people practiced in this country. He was the best salesman at the branch and some years in the whole company.

The absolute worst employees to have. I loathe people like that at my office.

For pretty much the entire show up until the last season. They didn't argue for like 7 years. Everything about their relationship was cheesy and unbelievable. I'm not saying they're some power couple. Just saying couples in real life aren't that cheesy so it was unrealistic to me.

They don't even get together until the beginning of season 4. They're only together 5 seasons and they spend atleast two of those fighting.

They are tools, and Pam was the alpha tool.
1. Engaged Pam plays with Jim’s emotions so she can get the attention Roy doesn’t give her.
2. She get jealous of Karen and throws a pity party at the lake thing prompting the downfall of Jim.
3. Gets hurt in a volleyball game screwing up the one good thing the Scranton branch ever had going for them as a whole.
4. Lacked support for Jim to provide immensely for his family.
5. Sound guy. (Yet again, craved attention that she wasn’t getting fro Jim at the moment.)
6. Tried to make everyone believe she was a good artist or something.
7. Etc.

My point exactly. What incentive do they have to even try or care? Can’t fire people for this anymore. Gotta make them like their job if you want quality work. Dwight was the only one who liked his job. Too dumb to even realize the conditions of DM. He was so proud of DM that he was annoyed that the Staples worker didn’t know what it was.

Seasons 1-4 Pam and Jim are the best. They're relatable then. But Jim is less likable when he becomes serious about the job.

He's pretty aware the entire time. He says so multiple times. He has his farm to fall back on, but while he's a salesman at DM he'll be the best he can be.
Of course in season 3 there is this exchange:
Michael: Excuse me, Mr. Wallace? David Wallace?
Dwight: Yes? What is the meaning of this?
Michael : Can you tell us why you are shutting down Scranton and putting 15 people out of work?
Dwight: Well, the branch is no longer finicially viable. It's simple dollars and cents.
Michael: Yes, but these are employees, Sir. These are human beings.
Dwight: Listen, Scott... we're losing money, okay? It's not a charity; it's a business. And it's a dying business. The business model of a small regional paper company just doesn't make sense anymore.
