Because of his meddling they took the Ark to the secluded island instead of shipping it to Berlin as was their original plan.
So instead of being opened by underlinga it would’ve been opened in Berlin by Hitler in a ceremony that would’ve certainly included other top officials….thus ending the 3rd Reich before WW2.
Indy was indirectly responsible for WW2.

The Nazi officer was uncomfortable with the ritual used when opening, so it might be safe to say Adolf wouldn’t be present at the first viewing.

Where?
When?
I have an 11 year old nephew that has never seen an Indiana Jones movie and I told him we’re accomplishing that by the end of the summer.
That would be an awesome way to kick off the trilogy.

So instead it gets opened in Berlin, Hitler and the entire Third Reich are destroyed before they ever get started.
Indy helped KEEP WWII going.
Damn, it's even worse!

Remember, they were in such a hurry to get the Ark back to Berlin the plane was already prepped and ready to fly.

Does no one remember the bar conversation between Indy and Belloq?
Indy: “What about your boss, der fuhrer?”
Belloq: “All in good time. When I’m finished with it.”
It is very possible that Belloq wanted to take a look at the Ark (whether in Berlin, the island, or elsewhere) without any bigger fish around. And if the Ark had real supernatural power that Belloq could harness, I’m going to say he would have used it to the fullest extent that he could for personal gain.
Belloq isn’t even a Nazi. He’s French. He’s also shady as frick and an opportunist. And I have no doubt he would frick over Hitler with the Ark like he did Indy with the Idol at the beginning of the film.
Because of Indy, the Ark eventually ended up in the best place it realistically could have: in a crate in a huge warehouse full of countless other crates with seemingly no government interest in doing anything with it. Otherwise, it might have killed other (perhaps innocent) people who stumbled upon it if left indefinitely on the island or elsewhere.
Because of the Ark’s power, it didn’t need to be “researched” (as Marcus thought) or in a museum. The intelligence guys made the right call. The Ark needed to be locked up and left alone.
That was possible… because of Indy.

And yes, without Marion’s medallion, they might not have found the well of souls.

Brody sent Indiana after Marion to get the medallion.

Just watched this clip and I don't entirely agree with it. If you look at a gigantic big picture level and say "nazis still find arc, they still open it and die, so it doesn't matter if indy was even in the film or not" may be true but that's boiling an entire film down to one small sentence.
Let's look at Marion's life/story. When Indy first meets her in this film she's in some secluded shithole bar in Nepal trying to hustle degenerates in drinking games. By the time the film is over she has rekindled a long lost relationship with Indy and I assume takes up permanetn residence in the US with Indy. For Marion I'm quite sure she's glad Indy was in the film because her life likely ended up much much better than it otherwise would have. The ark situation is just one (albeit a big one) event that you can argue Indy had no impact on, but ot say the movie's course of evnets would still happen without him is simply not true.
And one final parting thought. it's a movie meant to entertain and it's a damn elite one, maybe one of the best adventure movies ever. So even if the BBt people were 100% correct, who cares? Much like how people try to be super smart and make the same argument with Usual Suspects ( I won't provide spoilers since that's not what this thread is about, but I mean most of you probably know what I'm getting at) and say that it is'nt as good anymore because of [things], so what!? It's still good as shite.
