WTF is wrong with you snowflakes that you’re afraid of “SJW overtones” in a story?

Who said anyone was afraid? What a stupid thing to say. No one is afraid, but it can difficult to invest in media if you can clearly see that it's trying to force feed some thinly veiled political viewpoint. It's just a fact in today's world. Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable. It can in many cases distract from good storytelling as well

It sure as shite isn't scary or making anyone "afraid" (what a stupid assumption).

then what do you mean by "SJW overtones"?

I think you're not the person to answer this question. Thanks anyways.

I'll likely give the series a shot though.

Not at all. Simple question, simple answer. Not calling anyone names, just asking. If you don't know how to answer, just don't try.

Good for you. I can take political messages, but it can certainly be over the top and there are plenty of movies out there where it goes over the top of kills the plot and ultimately my interest in the movie.

I'm asking you to answer it

If you can give me some examples, I can tell you if it exists in Black Mirror, as I've seen every episode

Ok...

No, there are no episodes where the main characters are at a hilary rally stomping out the American flag talking about how bad capitalism is and how evil straight white men are that don't admit their white privelege and refuse to donate to needy orphaned cats.

There is an episode with a lesbian couple. There's another episode with a woman with extremely short hair, almost surely a liberal. One episode has an interracial "couple". Many newer episodes have females as the lead.

Take with that info what you will. If the second part isn't too terribly scary for you, I would recommend giving it a shot.

How comparable is this series to the twilight zone?
Pretty comparable - minus the supernatural stuff (just replaced by tech.)

Is there a lot of SJW overtones in the episodes?

Yes, there is. For instance, in one episode, a black woman exhibits personal agency vis a vis a white male. Get that shite OUTTA here.

What other series does this compare to?

It's sort of a mix between The Jon Stewart Show and The West Wing. Just relentless SJW overtones. I found it to be quite off-putting.

There are several interracial couples in the series.

The horror.

Whoaaa relax.

I don't think you really know what I mean and that's okay.

I'm not sure why you went through the effort of answering a question you don't understand.

Thanks for your effort though. You seem pretty high strung, probably a good thing in your case.

Good thing that's not what I'm worried about. Maybe that's the stuff other people are worried about though. Not really my concern either way.

Or I could just wait for responses and see if the question gets answered without the condescending hissy fit.

Posters have tried to answer and you condescendingly told them they didn't understand your point

And you continue to avoid any further clarification

I'd say Hated in the Nation has some fairly serious "SJW undertones." But it isn't distracting, and I could totally see something like that premise happening (if that tech existed and functioned like that).

I guess, in a way, you could argue that White Bear has a little bit of "SJW" in it, but not in the same way that you would prolly think though.

But the show isn't really overly based on political commentary. IMO it shouldn't really offend either side of the spectrum too terribly.

I hesitate to answer the OP because I don't want to violate any safe space he has set up for himself, but IF I were to answer, which I am not, I would say.

Black Mirror is spotty so you might consider doing what I did and looking up a list of best episodes and starting there. The way I look at the show, when its great its great, when its not great it still is better than most garbage on TV.

Except when they take the same (or similar) future tech and revisit it in several different episodes.

Perfect answer that I was looking for with regards to the SJW garbage. Thanks.

Don't really understand the melt for simply asking a question. Guess we need some safe spaces for these folks that can't handle simple questions being asked.
