I don't think that's true at all.

Plenty who haven't read the book have avoided making dumb comments about Guardians of the Galaxy vibes.

I have tickets to the early access on Monday too. I think the tickets are open to all now instead of requiring the Prime membership.

I was already traveling or I would have tried to get tickets to the 70mm IMAX early showings this weekend.

Watch the trailer and you'll change your mind. It has nothing to do with the book

I’ve seen all the trailers. It looks like they are following the books closely as best as I can tell. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Just finished it, was early released for two days here in the UK…it was fantastic, if you loved the book you won’t be disappointed.

I worry they’re going to dumb down Grace. I looked at some of the reviews that mention “Ken in space.”

I just saw it and it follows the book pretty closely, can’t see how you could make too many criticisms on that regard

My family wants to go see it in IMAX. The nearest one is an hour and a half away. Worth it?

I’d say so (I saw it in IMAX), if for no other reason than the scene at Adrian if you’ve read the book

I’d say this did happen a little, they didn’t emphasise the problem solving skills as much in space…but they did in the flashbacks.

Got early access tickets through prime and saw it this evening. I really, really enjoyed it! For a 2.5 hour runtime, it did extremely well to stay faithful to the book, and it never get bogged down or felt like they included things unnecessarily. None of the humor was “over the top” or gratuitous.

A couple of very minor differences from the book, but it was an incredibly well-done adaptation.

For the first three quarters (book length), it was a very good adaptation. Plenty had to be left on the cutting floor due to run time, but I don’t think anything critical was missing. They fit what they needed to an executed really well.

The last quarter from the book felt rushed. Just kind of glossed over in a couple lines of dialogue. Wham-bam-done. I think it works for the unfamiliar, which will be most film-goers, but I was disappointed in the brevity.

Really enjoyed the film, and so did my wife who has not read the book or even watched a trailer and went in completely blind.

Even before that. Id say everything after the collection.

One of the main hurdles and the solution are brought up and swept away in a single line of exposition.

It's going to be interesting to see how this thing plays out. I am shocked by how many people have no idea about this movie. But the reviews are some of the most positive I have ever seen for a movie. I bet word of mouth is going to make this thing take off quickly. Movie theaters really need this as a shot in the arm going into summer.

Presales are doing really well. This could be a huge breakout, domestically. We'll have to wait and see how the international market feels about it.

Everybody should plan to see this in IMAX. Saw it Monday and have tickets to see it again next week.
