Which one has voicemails complaining about the Jews? There’s your answer

Edit: I’m not saying he’s racist but that’s the evidence they have against him

No one thinks Apocalypto is racist. People know Gibson is racist because he has been recorded making seriously racist comments.

He's still directing. He was nominated for best director after the racist recordings.

Don't be such a shite

The threads are getting more and more desperate and incongruous as the anti-woke campaign has failed on the opening weekend.

Well, the racist got a way bigger return on his investment, given the movies' respective budgets.

No. Most of us knew it would at least make its money back, and I've been on here saying that repeatedly. It's Nolan. There's a built-in audience, and even his worst films are at least kinda good. None of it is due to DEI casting, though, and he likely left money on the table by doing it.

But percentage-wise, he'll have a tough time beating Mel because of comparative budgets. That's all I was saying.

Its crazy. This used to be an LSU movie board for people from Louisiana. Now it is apparently a place for people that think the Tigerdroppings movie board is gonna decide the future of world history if we dont fix Hollywood

Like what the frick is going on? Has social media really created a mockery of our neighbors?

Woke is destroying Hollywood. 1-2 woke blockbuster films doing well each year is not an indicator that audiences want woke garbage.

Hypocrisy doesn’t even phase them. They follow and worship John Campea as a reviewer for goodness sake.

And they just move the goalposts so they’re never “wrong”. First it was no one would go see it. Then it was they won’t make their money back. Now it’s they left money on the table with their casting choices. Or that the audience was baked in because it’s Nolan.

How? Just curious. Apocalypto is one of my all time favorite movies and I like it more than The Odyssey but it cost 40 million and made 120 million. So roughly 40 million profit.

Odyssey cost 250 million and looks like it will reach a billion given its record opening. It will make significantly more profit and even more if you just take percentage. Not sure how it could be “way bigger”.

Also kinda funny the movie they chose to show how non racist Mel Gibson is the one where he portrayed the Mayans as hunter-gatherers in the year 1502.

The movie is phenomenal, but it (as everything) still has its own flaws. And thats not even Gibsons fault, there's no such thing as 100% historical accuracy in a 2 hour film

So it's still a dumbass argument because Gibson didn't get accused of racism due to casting choices even though he did have a white Jesus

Yea I mean I love the movie, but it is not historically accurate at all. And I don’t care one bit.

Percentage wise and the marketing formula was not what it is today.
