In the mid 80s DeNiro did a lot of roles where he was not...."DeNiro"

Angel Heart as Louis Cipher
The Mission
Cape Fear
Awakenings -90s
Also I thought he was great in Bullwinkle
The Untouchables- I know he plays a mobster-Capone but he really becomes Capone

I'm no DeNiro fan, but I really liked his performance in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The movie didn't seem to be very popular but I loved it, and the excellent makeup work made you forget it was DeNiro and made for a great monster. I saw it in like 9th grade and I remember thinking "damn this might be possible"

Jaime Foxx is likely an obscure pick, but he is up there from Ray to Django to comedy and musicals.

Mr. Right is my favorite role with him.

Funny arse movie with him and Anna Kendrick

Wish he would have done more Westerns. Could have been great.

Dustin Hoffman

From The Graduate to Rain Man to Meet the Fockers and beyond.

He's more of an honorable mention though... I still think the winner is either Robin Williams or Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Tom Hanks.

I'm just going to throw up a whole bunch of Toby Huss roles b/c until I looked up the cast of the Fatal Attraction series I had no idea I'd seen and liked him in so many things.

Artie the Strongest Man in the World - Adventures of Pete and Pete

Todd - Beavis and Butthead

Fake I.D. Salesman - Vegas Vacation

Cotton Hill - King of the Hill

Felix "Stumpy" Dreifuss - Carnivàle

John Bosworth - Halt and Catch Fire

Johnny the Hat - Brockmire

Mike Gerard - Fatal Attraction
