I do agree with whoever posted before about the conversation about them not being able to kill, but they won't stop anyone else from killing an animal to prepare for food. I don't think this was just a throwaway conversation.
They did warn Carol that they couldn't protect the non-hive folks from themselves.

I'm curious to see how the hive mind starts behaving over time. They've all been dedicated to cleaning up and treating the remaining normies like royalty. We haven't really seen them do anything for "fun" yet. They say that they're happy but they're acting like robots.
If you think about it, the could just have a few hundred or so of them doing fun things all the time and they'd all experience those moments.

I'm not a big TV watcher, but I've seen all of BB and several rewatches of BCS.
Plur1bus is fricking crazy.

Question-
When the lady "chaperone" first comes to see Carol, she immediately recognizes her as a female version of a fictional character from one of her novels, not a real person. So does this higher power also morph? Or did they just find a female doppelganger of Carol's fictional character among the pre-existing human race?

I had the same question. I have to think, unless we find out later, they just found someone who looks like her. There are several questions, like the 'chem trails' scene when they were standing outside of the bar. Will that come in play later or just another empty mystery box? Lots of great stuff to pay off later, if they want to .

That was why they showed the whole sequence of that woman going from cleaning up bodies in a desert somewhere, flying the plane, and showing up at Carol's. It was a doppelganger, which freaked Carol out more that they knew that she originally planned for that character to be female.

That's how they mass infected everyone rather than the slower method they were using before.

Come on man

Ahh, fair enough. i guess that's for TV viewing reasons, but there's no way aerosols that high up in the atmosphere would affect folks directly below the planes like that. And remember, the guy the truck was infected first, THEN her friend outside. And then everyone in the bar too.
Maybe I missed it, but did they say 'there they go again' with the chemtrails? Like they've been doing this for days already? I may have missed that.

I knew it was likely connected, but c'mon yourself. There's no way THOSE chemtrails could have gotten to the folks on the ground. It takes more than a few minutes for aerosols to fall 30K feet.

It's just a tv show man.

Well, we don't know how long those chem trails were up there before they noticed. Could have been hours? We don't really know all the details on how they did it, but it looks like they did it in mass through the air...so if you can't accept that, you may just have to suspend disbelief and enjoy the show.
I don't remember "There they go again" being said about the trails. I only remember Carol commenting how odd it was and that they don't usually do that.

For the area, a crop duster flying at night would have made more sense. "They usually don't do that - at night " would have worked as well.
Posted on 11/10/25 at 4:27 pm to SouthEasternKaiju
She said "they usually don't do that" referring to the chemtrails being bunched together and parallel.

I don't see how they stretch this into 4 seasons
Gilligan I'm sure has thought out the story and I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff we just have no idea about yet. I think back to LOST two episodes in. We really didn't know anything at all.
I'm excited to see where they take this. And kudos to them for doing some original sci fi (or heck anything original). This type of show, like Severance, is uncharted ground in our head and it is more fun to me that any other type of film/TV.

I'm not sure you have a multi-season show. 99.9999%
I was talking with my 16 yr old son this morning about the show. He said, “that show has endless possibilities for storylines.”
And followed it up with, “take the 350 pound loser posting on Internet forums all day while living in his mom’s basement. He went from ‘anonymous loser’ to ‘the ENTIRE WORLD knows just how much of a loser you really are’ in a matter of seconds. There’s a few shows on him alone.”
And then, how does the hive mind negotiate the turmoil created by suddenly having the truly deviant minds be a part of the ethos? Do they suddenly forget all of the bad things people have done?
