Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much (Price is Right doc)

This is on Amazon Prime right now. Years ago there was a contestant on The Price is Right who nailed the Showcase Showdown to the exact dollar. The winner claimed that he was a genius, the producers knew he had help from the audience (which is within the rules) but thought there might be some type of cheating going on. This is the documentary about the guy who made TPIR his lifetime hobby and helped other contestants win big on the show and was the man behind the perfect bid.
Very low-key, mashed potatoes kind of doc. The subject is a gay mathematician with a knack for numbers and a lot of time on his hands. Nothing amazing but a good way to spend an hour and a half.
Bob Barker comes across as a prince of a guy (they don't go into his #metoo stuff). Drew Carey looks like an a-hole. You can tell that Barker lived for the show, Carey is there for the gig.

I have a TV in my office and for some reason one day the channel was on Price is Right instead of SportsCenter and I saw a guy win the showcase by being under by seven dollars. It was pretty wild.

I watched this the other night. Forgettable but definitely worth the watch. The guy that won the showcase with the perfect bid is a real a-hole.

I watched this last week and while it's nothing special it was interesting. I remember the guy with the perfect bid and how pissed Drew was. This was the first time I heard Drew's side of the bid (using clips from Kevin Pollack's chat show).
And I agree with that.

what was happening is they were cycling through the same prizes for the showcases so if you recognized a showcase from last years show and remembered its price then you can get the price exactly right.
drew was a total dick about it, didnt recognize the win or congratulate them about it. after that they started making up wildly irrational random prices no way connected to reality so a $2 pack of drink mix might have a $30 price tag.
bob used to cheat and give service members hints and sometimes rigged games for them to reward those who serve our country. you wont even see military get picked to be on drews show because he hates anyone who loves this country

Looks like this just got added to Netflix. Watched it last night and enjoyed it. I liked game shows a lot as a kid and during the summer, if I was home, I usually watched Price is Right.
I'm not sure about this guy being gay...I must have missed the part about his male partner. He wanted a kiss from one of the models on TPIC and wore a shirt that said the same. Maybe he's bi?
Anyway, for any fans of the show, you'll probably enjoy this doc.
