Sounds like they still don't have a clue, the two standalone movies have been the best of the Disney efforts.

I dont think they really care to understand

Its simple, regardless of complaints from fans the main Episodes are making money

Regardless of fans saying Solo and the stand alones are good/not the problem, they arent making as much money

Ironically, the fanboys on message boards somewhat played a part in this

I'm not a huge Star Wars guy, but a buddy of mine is a total fanatic. He's told me some info about the book material that deals with the Old Republic, and that all sounds SUPER interesting. I would love to see movies about Darth Bane, Revan, or Emperor Vitiate.

Would that source material be considered too dark for Disney? Idk, like I said, I'm a much more casual fan. It just seems like A LOT of the most interesting stories are from that time period.

I never understood axing the books. It was right there for easy picking like Marvel is doing.

So should they give up?

Solo was good, so wouldnt we expect good numbers for IX?

I think it'll do very well, especially with Abrams back.

They won't use the property to try out unproven writers and directors any longer and are currently assessing the direction for the film franchise post episode 9

Too bad they didn't do this before TLJ.

If Disney thinks Solo bombed at the box office, I cannot wait for the box office numbers of these abominations from Johnson.
you do realize that that statement doesnt say that Johnson will be doing these films.....they were referenced the characters from his film.

No, what we need is an R-Rated movie about the Sith Triumvirate rampaging across the galaxy at the time of the Old Republic (Nihilus, Traya, Scion)

KOTOR TRILOGY

I am all in on this. The storyline in the original KOTOR was excellent.

I know video games don’t translate to movies but it shows how good writers can really work in this space if given the latitude.

They're not the solution and they add to SW fatigue.

The two stand-alone films have both been the best parts of Disney owned Star Wars. This doesn't make sense.
