Why would Walter ask the Klopeks to check his mail while he's in the hospital?

I swore off TD for the new year and logged back in just to say this is a super frickin underrated 80s Tom hanks flick. I find it so damn funny.

And not to hijack, but I re-watched this one last night. This line cracks me up every time.

Watched this a couple years ago for the first time in forever, and it still holds up really well. Great movie.

I've kinda pondered the OP's question in the past and have no answer.

"The 'Burbs" is one of THE most underrated films of all-time. Never gets old to me. Wish there had been a sequel, then again glad there wasn't. Probably couldn't recapture that magic and overall casting.

Gale Gordon as Walter. I know him from Dennis the Menace, but he was know n for another role. Isn't there a picture somewhere in the movie of him with Lucy from I Love Lucy?

didn't they live right next door? Would you trust Rumsfield or Art with that task?

One of my all time favorite movies. Also my favorite Corey Feldman role.

"About a 9 on the tension scale there, Rube"

I use that line all of the time.

Have this on DVD and watch it a few times a year. It might be my favorite movie

He doesn't like Rumsfield and Art is too many doors down, but he could ask Ray who is only two doors down and seems well-liked. Nobody knows the Klopeks. It doesn't make any sense.
