I thought they should have made the kids 18 instead of 16 and could have used the story line of them moving on and going to college soon....My guess why they didnt is to give the chance of two more seasons ( as teenagers) like other shows like Friday Night Lights, OC, and One Tree Hill.

I thought the first six episodes were great and couldnt stop watching. It was better when the show was just about the kids hanging out and looking for treasure. The last few episodes became scripted for forced.

Read yesterday the show creator envisions four to five seasons. Good luck! The ending of S1 was bad enough that it will take three more seasons to straighten the show out.

Surprisingly fun. I was expecting CW level acting across the board. There's definitely a decent bit of that, but there's also some really good work in there as well. My only real complaint is them using all the terms like pogue one billion times.

Really don't love that they're talking about doing 5 seasons or so. Feel like they could wrap up the story in 2 seasons and have it be done.

Did anyone else notice they did not mention their ages in the first 4 to 5 episodes and then mentioned they were 16 like 20 times?

The class warfare is a bit strong. Could have the same effect without constantly labeling it. The bad guys are comically bad at acting.

This was some good stuff. Didn't really have that high of expectations

The ending was kind of ridiculous though

And I agree also. But they had to get it wrapped up someway in S1.

SPOILER
So they took that boat out in those conditions. And then the captain takes these minors to the Bahamas. Right!

Good show but one little hang up for me is the number of times they say "John B" every single time the kid is onscreen.

Looking forward to Season 2 though.

I enjoyed it. The goonies meets the OC kinda thing.

My thoughts exactly.

It was a little over the top at times (okay, maybe a lot) but still a fun binge watch.

Over the top and ridiculous AF but I was bored and couldn’t find anything that interested me on Netflix that I hadn’t already seen so I gave it a whirl.

Nonsensical plot threads and some massive reaching in regards to law enforcement stupidity but, it was an okay watch. So bad it was entertaining. I mean, they just upped the BS ante each episode.

The gal playing Sarah has an excellent arse. Don’t worry, I checked her age to be sure. 22.

The lead is fricking 27.

Dunno why they had to go 16. Only the two females leads could pass as 16. Which is why shite is so dangerous these days. 16 year olds look 20 sometimes, and 20+ still look like teens. Scary game to be playing.

This show should have been two seasons max and making them 17-18 or so. Just expand the shows internal timeline to happen over the course of a summer/year.

I wouldn't have guessed he was that old, but it was pretty obvious he wasn't still a high schooler. That's always been the case for these sort of shows though.

I liked it but I found it really forced that they start the season with a hurricane hitting and on the same night that power is restored there is another tropical system hitting. It seems like the first season was only covering a couple weeks worth of time. Seems really unlikely. I’m pretty sure they also called the storm a Depression and said it had 65mph winds. Lol

The first one was Agatha and the second one had a D name... I guess I figured they were a few weeks apart at least.

And if it had a name it must have at least been a TS.

Two storms in a couple weeks period isn't unheard of. That second storm was no depression though and surviving flipping your boat like that is basically not going to happen

The last couple episodes got stupid, but it was fun.

I like how people wake up after a full night's rest still clinging to the rope keeping them from drowning (not just an Outer Banks thing). As someone who will drop his phone on his face the moment I drift off to sleep, it's nice to know that I'll fare better in a life or death situation.

Watching it now. Can’t stand the fact that haven’t I heard a single southern accent. Might as well be watching a Great Lakes based show.

That and the fact that none of them are blasting widespread just took me right out of the setting.

No southern accent bothered me less than bad southern accents (I'm looking at you, Sweet Magnolias!). This show was fun and I mostly liked it, but it could have been so much better. Pogues and Kooks was stupid. Writing just needed to be better. I am hoping next season will be better.

PROS: I loved the premise of this show and thought it should have been lots of fun. The acting was good. I liked the kids. I like the treasure hunting.

CONS: I wasn't a fan of the kids straight up committing serious crimes like it was nothing. Mischief is one thing, but not crimes. I wanted Kie to actually pay for stuff for them, which a rich girl would have done.

DISBELIEF: Had a huge problem getting over the hurricane and storms. There's a yacht in your yard but the potted plant didn't move...nope.

SPOILER:

WHAT I WANTED: I wanted at least one adult to sort of be on the kids side. I was really pissed when the black, woman cop died. I thought her character was interesting.

Peterkin was such a wastes character. Didn’t go into why she was onto Ward, or why she stopped being subservient to him (it was always unclear if she “helped” him in the past or what), what originally tipped her off to him, etc.

Other than her all the adults sucked arse.
