Leon Black and his family moving in with Larry David after Hurricane Edna. That was pretty left-field on Curb Your Enthusiasm, leading to one of the oddest friendships in sitcoms between Leon and Larry.
Come to think of it, Leon is very similar to Kramer in some ways. Probably an ersatz-Kramer for Curb.

Ron was supposed to be the villain. Much like Archie Bunker, a character written to be the butt of jokes and hated by the audience turned out to be a fan favorite. Once the showrunners realized that Ron was more well-liked than almost any other character, they changed their approach to humanize him. Ron ended up being the real pop culture phenom of a show with Rob Lowe, Aubry Plaza, AND Chris Pratt.
